the coloring of America

Which America does very well. Everyone can be a mediocre $1000 an hour lawyer here.

Yes, as evidenced in America. This is why our melting pot works.

As white men are marginalized more and more, there will be less of a common enemy for Democrats. That was at the heart of the affirmative action cases.

The interplay between politics, marriage and child rearing will be interesting. Conservatives are having more children, or perhaps it is more accurate to say that having children is more aligned with conservative values presently. We have no idea how it plays out.

It isn’t a given that as minority groups take power they will continue progressive liberal values (see Michigan townships where Muslim dominated city councils have scaled back on Pride celebrations).

I don’t think a coloring of America leads in a straight line to progressive goals. It will be largely dependent on secularizing immigrant populations and I suspect changing birthing patterns will also be relevant.

Wait so the plan really is for white men to become “marginalized more and more”? Isn’t that exactly what replacement theory is all about?

+1 exactly.

More and more people will be multiracial, like my kids. We just need to all be some shade of tan/brown (my kids are half Asian) so we can stop with this racist BS.

Humans will always find ways to create in groups and out groups. Observable differences like skin color and physical characteristics just make it easier.

but if we are all some shade of brown/tan we can at least dispense with skin color differentiation.

Spending some time in Brazil will quickly dispel you of that notion. Brown people start sorting each other based on their relatively lightness. It’s not something that will go away.

Do some research on colorism. There is a reason people try to bleach their skin. Lighter skin is seen as more desireable. This is common in many countries where the vast majority of people are black. Also in countries such as Nigeria you start to sort by tribe which is tied to religion. It doesn’t just go away.

Don't be so ignorant.

Asian people like whiter skin because that's the way it's been for hundreds of years, same as in Europe until the 20th century. Lighter skin = elite upper class people who don't have to work on the farms and get dark.

My (Asian) 84 year old immigrant Asian mother always despaired of me driving around in the CA sun in my convertible; my grandmother (born in the 1800s) despaired of me and my siblings getting so dark in the summer because we loved to play outside and go swimming. The reason for this is not because she wanted us to be white adjacent. As a matter of fact, one of her kids married a white person back in the 60s in their home country, and she was very upset over it.

Why the line "don't be so ignorant"? You are adding a supporting example to the PP's comment. Did you read it and interpret the desire for lighter skin to be white adjacent? Maybe, in these other examples, the desire for lighter skin is similar to your example of signalling wealth. You sound like you don't like white people, PP.

Then why the line "don't be so ignorant"?

You seriously believe America does a good job of assimilation? Wow.

So please tell me why we bend over backwards to have everything in other languages nowadays? It all started with press 1 for Spanish.

All past immigrants, my parents included, had to learn the English language!!

You really want to help immigrants succeed and be a positive for our society? Educate them on speaking the language. It boggles my mind...we are still the only country in the world that doesn't require its citizens to learn the country's main language. That then helps immigrant children who often struggle in school because their parents can't help them at home.

That should also be an absolute requirement for any illegal immigrant/Asylum Seeker seeking to remain in the US....to learn the English language. And now with the internet tools available there is absolutely no excuse not to learn.

Many Hispanics are business owners and detest high taxes. They also come from cultures that push very strong traditional family values, and they're way more anti-lbgtq in many parts of central America where Christianity and Catholicism are much stronger. Also, Hispanics helped vote in GOP Bush and Abbott in TX. It just showed you how they eventually establish themselves as very conservative traditional family value types over time. It's going to be so funny when all of this backfires on the Dems. As they always say, be careful what you wish for. Dems will get their diversity alright, but it probably isn't going to turn out the way they intended.

Yes but once they realize that the GOP want them out and don’t consider them real Americans, they vote with the Dems. It happened to my Hispanic immigrant DH. They will learn that the GOP support policies that will hurt them.

Except they don't do that in Texas. The governor of Texas literally put up razor wire to keep illegals out and Hispanic voters keep voting for GOP governors. There's no way Bush or Abbott win the gubernatorial race without the Hispanic vote. They voted for GOP.

Most Hispanics are pro-life. That's why they keep voting red.
