You seriously believe America does a good job of assimilation? Wow.

So please tell me why we bend over backwards to have everything in other languages nowadays? It all started with press 1 for Spanish.

All past immigrants, my parents included, had to learn the English language!!

You really want to help immigrants succeed and be a positive for our society? Educate them on speaking the language. It boggles my mind...we are still the only country in the world that doesn't require its citizens to learn the country's main language. That then helps immigrant children who often struggle in school because their parents can't help them at home.

That should also be an absolute requirement for any illegal immigrant/Asylum Seeker seeking to remain in the US....to learn the English language. And now with the internet tools available there is absolutely no excuse not to learn. [/quote]
