On my one and only trip to the Amalfi Coast I stayed in Ravello. Incredibly charming.

Ravello is the most beautiful place on the Amalfi coast and not that well known. +1

Rome is my happy place in Europe. I love architecture and history, and find the palimpsest of different eras fascinating. Plus the food is delicious.

I love Norway, Nova Scotia; and Point Reyes, California. I was surprised by the beauty of southern Wales (I haven’t been to the North) and years ago as a teen surprised by how fun and beautiful it was to visit the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Another vote for Prague. I went right after 9/11 when airlines were giving crazy deals and my friend and I picked it at random. Blew me away I loved it so much. And just returned yesterday from my second time there and it was as magical as I remember but way, way more crowded!!

Hanoi and Hoi An, Vietnam

I’m one of the posters that never wants to go back to India, but I do love far-flung travel. Hanoi has amazing food and a great vibe. It’s just a fun place to explore. And Hoi An, while a bit touristy, is a beautiful base for eating, exploring by bike, and just chilling. I also enjoyed Sapa in the north.

Paris and Provence

Loved it so much after 15+ years of regular visits we moved here

Did you move to Paris and Provence? Also is it difficult to get your visa renewed every year?

You should do China. It's a big country but certain places are just amazing. Highly suggest Huangshan Anhui Provence and HK. Also Taipei Taiwan.

I also felt this way about Rome—like I could just wander around forever and every corner would have something interesting. Plus I could eat Italian pastries and gelato and pizza all day every day. Weirdly, I found many of the pasta dishes way too salty but that was my only criticism.

I have! And I loved it, except for the LOOOOOOONG flights to get there from the U.S. My last visit was about a year before Covid started, but if you have questions, I'm happy to try to answer them.

Maybe you just have a good picker. Unlike the poster who went to Tijuana!

More likely they just have no taste.

It's cold there, even in the summer.

I used to live in San Jose, CA. When it was brutally hot, I'd drive down to Carmel, in my shorts. I'd open the door to walk outside, and I'd immediately close the door.

But, it is pretty.

I love that type of temp best. It's my dream weather.

Columbus Indiana -/ so cute!

Appleton Wisconsin in the summer — such a great energy, like everyone is so happy to be outside in the sunshine.

Latvia — very cool history. Probably all of the Baltics is a “hidden gem”

York England

Pittsburgh?! Please tell me more!
