I can truly find anything to love about anywhere I go. I’m a curious person and experiencing a new place is interesting and valuable to me regardless of where it is. I can’t name a single place to contribute to the “hated it and wouldn’t go back” thread because of this. |

Funny, Bukhara was on my hate list. Are you a woman? Were you traveling with a tour group? Although maybe it was Samarkand where I had more issues. |
Maybe you just have a good picker. Unlike the poster who went to Tijuana! |
Places that exceeded my expectations. Just blew me away
Petra Jordan. Went 2 years in a row. 2nd time spent 3 days hiking all around The Great Wall on a day trip from Beijing. Went to a remote enough part that there were only a few people and we did a good walk like an hour plus. The way it sits on the landscape like a ribbon is so beautiful. Tibet. Barkhor in Lhasa - best vibe of any place on earth. Monasteries all over the country in amazing settings Angkor Wat. Spent 3 days exploring the different sites with a driver that l hired through my guest house - amazing and didn’t break the bank. Machu Picchu the Inka Trail, and Choquequiraou Bolivia. So much to love. La Paz, Salar de Uyuni, the missions around Santa Cruz Borneo. Hiking from the village of Bario Japan hot spring villages and remote monasteries Okavango Delta in a canoe, on foot, and from the air Utah National Parks in early spring - still snow on the ground Damn making this list I’m getting the travel bug again. So many great memories |
Pittsburgh! Did not expect it to be so charming with lots to do.
Columbus Indiana -/ so cute! Appleton Wisconsin in the summer — such a great energy, like everyone is so happy to be outside in the sunshine. Latvia — very cool history. Probably all of the Baltics is a “hidden gem” York England |
Petra has been getting a lot of love on this forum lately and I’m so glad. Gosh it was spectacular! |
