You are gross and a liar. EAs are not prostitutes. Way to denigrate the whole profession.

Was that back when “executive Secretary” was used?

The word Secretary is no longer used in favor of “assistant” which I think is more demeaning actually

I'm an EA making six figures without a bachelor's who watches a lot of Netflix. I do all my work that comes in, in a timely fashion. I pause Netflix or whatever I'm watching, and switch to music when doing work. But a lot of time I'm just monitoring my Inbox.

I always respect executives more when it’s clear they have empowered and fully leveraged their EAs. sometimes they are chief of staff types.

How do you get into a cushy role like this? I can pay my entire grad program tuition with a FT job salary like this.

Another one is “digital marketing strategist”. It’s one of those other cushy roles that pays slackers well.

I am telling you this is not uncommon especially in this area and in my age group. I know many slackers and complete morons from HS that are getting 100k+ salaries and I see them on Snapchat all day during work hours

How does one luck up into a job like this if they plan to go to grad school? Is the key to not say you have any plans?

That seems to be the people getting ahead with the pay.

My mom makes well over $200k as an EA in NYC/banking (only goes in 2 days per week). I never had the impression being an EA was particularly low paying

Start out making nothing and work your way up due to your hard work and competence. I know plenty of admins and secretaries who couldn't hack it and they still make shit. Not every EA makes six figures. Only the good ones do. Unless OP is her friend's boss and can judge the quality of her work, she has no reason to concern herself with what her friend makes.

Well, investment banking is something different obviously.

I am not wondering about EA’s for high stress roles in Fortune 500 companies or for government roles with clearance.

I am discussing the fluff EA roles where you don’t work over 40 hours/ a week like for small nonprofits, organizations, charities, advocacy groups. No grant writing involved. Literally just scheduling and booking flights and such and getting paid 100k for minimal work.

How does one luck up with a job like this? I want an easy job that pays very well and doesn’t require much/won’t distract me from studying.

Congressional staffers don’t even get paid as well as the digital marketing strategists I know.

It all is remarkable really

The problem here is that many times people who are making over 100K are not looking to do something else, like go to grad school. They are making a career out of this role, not doing it until something better comes along.

Again, and I don't know why this is so hard for you to grasp. They are paid what the market thinks they are worth. Apply for one of those jobs if you think they are so easy to get and do. Who is stopping you?

It sounds like you are devalue the work of an EA, which if done correctly is SO much more than what you are describing. The work you are talking about is not a career position, and those are what pay over 100K.
