North American Cup and Showcase Cup still have tons of scouts. Stay mad though.

Scouts love walking past all the best teams so they can watch teams that didn't win their league.

If you do not know, don't post. Showcase A and B games have tons of coaches. They are looking at players not teams. They do not care if your team is the worst out there if there is some reason to watch you. They know who they want to watch before they show up.

Yea, recruiters are jumping out of their socks to watch the worst team out there.

Say it back to yourself out loud so you can hear how stupid it sounds.

you're so clueless...recruiters/scouts/college coaches aren't there to see a team play. They're there for an individual player that has reached out and they're interested in. they're not just walking around tournaments looking for games to watch.

I agree with you.

But the best players aren't on the worst teams.

There are lots of reasons why a good player might play on a bad (still ECNL) team. Maybe they really like the coach, may it’s the only ECNL team within reasonable driving, maybe it costs less, maybe the playing style better suits their game, maybe the coaches or players on another team are aholes.

Maybe the other parents on other teams think their DD poop rainbows. Maybe you don’t have a freaking clue what you’re talking about. But scouts are watching players - not teams.

Scouts do look for individual players but you're kidding yourself thinking that they don't monitor the better teams as well.

Just watch the better teams play in both ECNL and GA at events and you'll see more scouts watching better teams and less scouts watching worse teams.

The ECNL kool-aid is thick once some people get a taste they can't stop chugging it down.

Union 0-10 against San Diego Surf. But, there were so many scouts watching how good Union is at losing + not even scoring a single goal.

Get a clue and realize the only reason your kid was there was to make other players look like superstars.

The rise and fall of the Arlington 2008 team really needs to be studied.

The Arlington coaches are inept.

It doesn’t matter. Scouts don’t really care about watching 8th graders.

True- a lot can happen in 2 years before they can even be recruited by D1 schools.

I bet if Union plays Surf again in 2 years they lose by the same amount if not more.

I also bet that Union parents will spend 20-30k on ECNL soccer over those 2 years.

I am amused that nobody on here is noting the success of the Arlington 2011s

I was relieved that nobody was noting it, but you took care of that.

Interested to see when they play the CA teams. Something seemed off with Sting. Either way, rooting for those girls.

Arlington 11, VDA 08, VDA 09, VDA 10, NVA 07 all have a chance to advance!

Of course nobody talks about that.

There are others besides those, VDA Dad. NVA 08 probably has a better chance for a WC than VDA 08.

The best? I agree. But there are P4 offers and commits to girls on the worst Ecnl teams. Not 10. But 1-3. Every coach is looking for what will work for them. And that also means landing someone. You can wait to see the logo boards they put out to see who went to watch who. Right now coaches are all over 08s and trapped 07s. From just about every team.
