That's not sustainable. I can do all sorts of things that cause a dramatic weight loss, but I've got kids, pizza, pasta and bagels are on the menu... even if I can avoid them some days. |
I echo what others have said about sugar and refined carbs.
I’m 53, 5’5” and 115. I was pretty stable at 125 but my last physical I had elevated A1C and was advised to cut down on carbs. My diet now is basically: No breakfast (this is nothing new, I’ve never been a breakfast person, even when I was a kid) Coffee 1 hour after waking Salad with 8 oz protein at lunch Piece of fruit and full fat yogurt for snack (sometimes apple with chunky peanut butter) Dinner is a salad, at least 8 oz chicken, fish or steak, side of veggies. If I’m still hungry I have nuts, yogurt and fruit at night a few hours after dinner. It stinks not eating bread or pasta or rice but I do have them if I’m at a restaurant and it’s a special occasion. Same goes for wine - I have a glass if it’s a special occasion. I didn’t intend to lose weight but I did lose 10 pounds and I feel good so I’m sticking to it. |
Same. I'm no longer a rice/pasta/bread person and I don't miss it, but I refuse to give up fruit and root veg. |
Nor should you! I can’t imagine a stupider weight loss plan than “don’t eat fruit or root vegetables.” |
For me fasting is the only thing that works.
I tried Keto but I can’t stand the taste of eggs or meat . It makes me want to grab a sweet as a palate cleanser . The best thing for me was fasting and just restricting times to eat rather than foods to eat |
It's the careful thought you're giving to what you eat, not the times. But if it works, awesome! |
