Once again, you have no idea what you're talking about. They 100% care who is on their top teams and have spots slotted to be filled by specific kids before tryouts. All the lower teams? Sure, they'd take outside money over promoting from within. Not the ECNL or pre-ecnl teams, though. Myself and others we know got literal emails inviting us to ID in March prior to tryouts. Not a single player was offered a spot on the top team for our age and the one above and below that didn't ID. I know this people people talk lol. If someone tells you they just showed up for a tryout at basically any program and made their top team without ever being seen by the coach prior, they're lying to you. All the clubs reach out to potential players ahead of time and it's completely normal for parents to each out to clubs to ID over winter to see the kid in a practice environment prior to tryouts. |
| My experience has been that Loudoun Soccer never gets back to you. They don't care and are probably already saturated even at the lower teams |
The reality is that most clubs are working overtime to kick off fall season league and player registrations. Many e-mails are being ignored right now, unfortunately. Not speaking for Loudoun Soccer specifically, but if you want your kid to jump on one of their travel teams, the big secret is, being at a practice receives far more attention than 20 e-mails ever will. Just bring your kid to practice of the age group of your kid a few times; tell the coach you want to play, and if they aren't full, they will usually take your kid. The only reasons they wouldn't take your kid: is if they are full (every league has a roster maximum) or your kid really doesn't seem to want to be there (not shy, but won't listen to the coach and even says they don't want to be there to the coach) and/or they are too small (like very small and timid). -good luck! |
Not really. Rarely are no spots available at all. If you reached out right now I can almost guarantee your get invited to a practice to ID. I know a number of second and third teams at a couple local clubs to us clubs with open roster spots for summer IDs. |
+1 Even if you tried out and haven't heard anything I'd contact the director of for the age group you're in and ask to come ID with the club. You'd be surprised how many rec kids do this in August and make teams, and not even the bottom team. |
