You think MCPS is unfixable? Interesting concession.

You forgot to read the rest of that sentence, PP
-DP

The sentence is poorly worded and grammatically incorrect. Maybe PP can try again.

Didn't you know PP was homeschooled?

Because the Board of Education sets policy about more than just full-time students at MCPS? It provides other services too. And also because she’s a taxpayer too and can have an opinion?

^"Sets policy..." How so? Meetings are mostly about MCPS.

IEP-type services are available to kids not enrolled in MCPS, at private schools, etc. plus the homeschool certification issues. Also if you think MCPS sucks, then by all means put your kids elsewhere but ALSO you’re welcome to run for BOE to try to fix the problems!

My child has an IEP and is in a special needs school right now. I absolutely will not be voting for her. She may live here and be a taxpayer but so are another million people. She does not have the qualifications for someone seeking a position on a board of education. I have no idea what her agenda is but I’m almost sure the homeschooling check is an addendum note and not a relevant fraction of her vision. She seems like she can’t compare educational-wise and will only serve to obstinate the board’s actual business.

Statistically PP likely went to public school.

Yes. If she got a board seat, she would just be taking up time to endlessly spout her right wing talking points and would be on the losing side of every vote.

You really can't go wrong voting the Apple ballot.

I’m voting for Diaz and Mandel.

I actually switched from independent voter to democrat so I could vote in the primary and will voting this way as well. We need change, and these are the only two I trust to implement it.

That’s exactly what I am envisioning. We can’t afford her “high jinx” if you will. We need actual qualified candidates who can help unravel the chaos of the past few years at minimum and help MCPS move forward.

In truth there's nothing to fix. These problems only exist in the minds of a few deranged individuals.

That's nice, but I predict those two will loose big. It's basically a wasted vote.

"Teachers’ role in parental rights became a topic after Brenda Diaz, a former Montgomery County Public Schools teacher turned homeschool educator, shared her opinions on parental rights during the event’s Q&A portion. She said with the lack of cooperation between parents and the schools, there will be no overall improvement.

“If we continue along this divide where the school system and parents are clashing, then we will continue to see failure in the school system,” said Diaz. “We will continue to see our children suffering."

And you have a problem with which part of what she said?

Nothing. But someone asked if there was proof she was Moms for Liberty. So there's the proof.

I read that article. It talks about Moms4Liberty but doesnt' state she's a member. They just quoted her in an article on some of the topics.

I read the article and don’t see where it says that Diaz is a Mom’s for liberty member. I don’t see any proof of that and if somebody is spreading lies about her then that makes them just as bad as Mandel. I’m not voting for Mandel but I am planning on voting for Diaz.

The article quotes her AT a Moms for Liberty event.

Moms4Liberty stands for hate, racism, terrorism and down right stupidity. We do not want either of these sub humans representing our schools.

Bethany in particular has zero to add to the conversation. She is a liar, psychopath and not a good person. If you have to scrub your online presence then you are not fit for a school board. Especially when that presence shows what a hateful, stupid barely human you are. Most importantly her tweets and words show a basic lack of humanity, intelligence and education.

Tell us how you really feel!

LOL yep I will not be quiet about her utter incompetence and hate.

It's not hard for anyone to find online seriously people I get some people want change at MCPS fine but Bethany Mandel is not the answer nor is Diaz. Liars belong no where near the kids. Mandel has spoken at many Moms4Liberty events Diaz has as well. Why are they not putting it on their profiles? We know why because they are liars.

Ok but you come off as unhinged in your hatred of them.

DP, they definitely don’t sound unhinged… they sound like they know Mandel is the absolute worst choice (which she is). Stop trying to make the sane people sound like the ones with issues because you’re not educated yourself.

Mandel is a right wing nutcase. It disturbs me that anyone would consider voting for her. Too many people in this country writhe in their own ignorance.

This county needs some balance to counteract the left wing nutcases who are currently in charge. We’ll take what we can get.

Meh, it’ll count as a protest vote. No vote is wasted.

Independent voters vote in the primaries for BOE too. As do voters of all parties.
