This woman makes my blood boil. I remember months during which kids couldn’t sleep from the ATV noise and the neighbor had casings in their wall from a shootout and a teenager died shot on my doorstep
And she did nothing! Please sign for us; we left because we felt we had no other choice |
Seriously- why would you live in a place like that? Why would you raise your children in a place like that if you had other options? Is being in a city that important to you? I just don’t get that. |
Yes, keep trying to equate a restaurant that serves wine or cocktails with dinner or a bar that serves beer and pub food with pot stores with drug addled zombies loitering and pan handling in front all day long. Continue saying those things are EXACTLY the same. Keep doing that. Please. |
Also here back then, agree 100%. It was safer and cleaner when weed was still illegal. |
Are you saying there is something wrong with the laws the council passed regarding these drugs? Perhaps they led to issues that contribute to crime? |
ok, there are restaurants with alcoholics loitering and pan handling in front of them all day long. I didn't know that pot was the same as opiates? Or that alcohol is NOT a drug that can have detrimental impacts? FWIW, I don't think the city enforces pot regulation sufficiently, but I still won't engage in victim blaming. "Shouldn't have worn a short skirt" - guess that's your stance. Again, keep it consistent. |
| Is this recall being funded primarily by republicans like the Charles Allen recall? I am a ward 1 resident and think Nadeau is terrible and I am a democrat. |
Most predominant issue leading to increased crime seems to be decreased arrests and decreased prosecution if you follow the crime statistics (thank you DC Crime Facts). Stop the catch and release, actually bother prosecuting people. If drugs are to be blamed, go with the illegal ones; basic cannabis isn't causing people to murder people anymore than alcohol is. PCP? Sure, but it's illegal. Drug wars over the drugs that are actually still illegal? Yes, absolutely. Is smoking pot in public a nuisance? Yes, particularly the odor, though public drunkenness is a nuisance and drunk driving is dangerous and kills people. People in this thread are conflating basic cannabis with other kinds of drugs that cause other kinds of issues both in terms of behavior and in terms of illegal drug trade. FWIW, I don't smoke or use cannabis whatsoever, I'm just irritated by faulty science like pretending alcohol isn't a drug too. |
Keep trying to make fetch happen.

I'm still really steamed about Nadeau accepting her priority access to those first COVID vaccines "as an example to nursing mothers" but allowing DC to effectively deny her Ward 1 constituents (even the elderly and those of us with major risk factors) access to the shots for weeks because we're apparently too "privileged".
Nadeau, your middle-income constituents have been working damn hard for a small sliver of home for our families in this city and you have destroyed our efforts to keep our neighborhood clean, safe, healthy, solvent, and generally livable. Shame on you for cynically and hypocritically profiting at our expense. |
OK Regina, keep eating those Kalteen bars. |
It's pretty telling that the only defense used by recall opponents is the 100 percent false assertion about it being funded primarily by Republicans. Notice they never defend Allen's policies or even like to speak his name. It the strategy of the terrified. |
| She is a shameless hack wreaking nothing but destruction. Vote her out. |
