Only three 911s? |
Wait...you actually believe everything you read on DCUM. Wow...well I guess there had to be one. Seriously, I wouldn't believe most of the posts on the DCUM especially in the Money and Finances thread. It's really just for entertainment purposes and to get a quick laugh. |
This is made me laugh. Well done. |
This one mostly makes sense to me. You can get a very comfortable and loaded Sorento that is only 5-6 years old with nearly all the bells and whistles (and safety features) of a new luxury car. The plane, although it is older, is a little odd. The plane owners I know tend to drive very nice cars (not surprising given planes are signs of wealth versus just HHI and since both high-end cars and planes are luxury assets that depreciate quickly). |
| BMW 5 series. Leased. It is fun |
Do you remember Tiger Woods’ car accident in 2021? The brand new Genesis GV80 he was driving saved his life. Had he been in a 13 yo Honda CRV like you, he would have been dead. Safety > Frugality |
What exactly is deceitful about EARNING lots of money? How do you get to rich people=dishonest? What is unethical about not giving to charity? You're confusing! I think it is unethical to expect handout or to expect others to give money that is not earned, especially if you are able bodied and sound mind. You make no sense; must be why you're still poor. |
The plane owners I know like to drive fast cars. Porsche or even motorcycles. Maybe it’s the same type of adrenaline rush? |
| Nissan pathfinder to tote the kids around in, and a panamera when it's just me and the spouse. I'm a car person though. |
We’re all capable of earning lots of money…in theory. In practice, though, the privileged few are the only ones allowed entry into the club. The rest of us are held back, forced to earn a fraction of what’s possible. People like you are born into comfort, have all their college and graduate school expenses paid by family, are gifted generous sums to buy first homes, and then have the audacity to pat themselves on the back for earning their way to the top. If you’re not giving back to charity, you’re just propagating that privilege forward. So blind you don’t even see it. |
+1. PP is way too smug. |
| Subaru and Honda Civic |

OP here - thanks for the all the replies - some very funny!
After some research, I am interested in the new 2024 land cruiser....but may just go for another Rav4.

HHI is now about 1.5 but we were in that range for years and have always driven cars relatively similar to the below:
Me: Volvo XC90 DH: Audi Q7 |
|
For me, it’s not necessarily about the car itself, it’s the cleanliness that speaks volumes about the person driving it.
90k Mercedes that’s never been washed, food wrappers lying around, dirt and leaves ground into the carpet — I’m judging that way more than the 6 year old RAV 4 next to it in the parking lot. |
