Well, I did have a plan, but I did not anticipate my DD wanting to apply to schools in Boston too. My oldest applied to only Harvard and Brandeis in Boston so those were the only schools we saw when we visited. Also I have family in Lowell so we stopped there on the way. But we are visiting those relatives frequently so taking DD to see the Boston schools she is considering is not inconvenient... |

BC- Is your DD white, Catholic, UMC, hetero? If you don’t check at least 2 boxes, they might not like it.
Tufts is a little outside the city, so if they are choosing a school specifically for “Boston”, that might not fit the bill. BU & Northeastern sound like the EDs. |
Agree! Currently leaning toward NEU ED1 and BU ED2. DD will make the final call, of course. Thanks

This is hilarious. NEU, BC, Tufts and BU not targets for anyone. Even for top students, by acceptance rates they are low reaches |
Clearly OP is new to this process. Give her a break, at least she's trying. More than we could say for you.... |
Oh Glorious Day!!! We figured it out OP! Genius!!! You didn’t reply to yourself either!!! |
You will discover how very many students there are with similar or better stats, and with amazing ECs to boot |
| This is an unusually hostile thread |
It’s definitely hostile. Not sure if that’s unusual. |
Just an everyday occurrence in DCUM. Nothing unusual to see here |
Did the NEU booster/ employee show up? |
| I think for me, OP is a little bit unrealistic in identifying reaches/targets/safeties. Best to be conservative IMO |
With a 1490 SAT, her odds are probably better at a test optional school. |
Like Northeastern
|
Oh!! Amazing suggestion!!! Of course the answer is Northeastern!! |
