When did your son hit his growth spurt?

Kids who get their pubertal growth spurt later are more likely to attain a greater adult height.

This is my family—brothers, uncles and my own sons. They all leave HS around 5’10”-5’11” at 18 and leave college 6’-6’3” at 22. My two were only 5’4” start of Freshmen year of HS. They did most of their growing between 16 and 17 and then continued to add about 0.5 inch to an inch until about 20-21. Oldest left HS at 5’11”, younger one (younger for the grade) graduated 5’10”.


My family too! My cousin looks like a 12 year old boy in his HS grad pics, I don’t remember how tall he was then but sometime in his 20s he shot up to 6’4”.
My 11 year old son is growing very slowly, he is average height according to the charts. The girls in his grade look like teenagers.
