Because their teams are less successful than just about all of the local clubs including the smaller ones |
Wow. That does look bad by comparison when the best things you can point out in a press announcement are “vision” and “infrastructure”. Not even sure I get the infrastructure bit. |
Infrastructure = sportsplex and privately owned fields |
this took more energy than it should have….. but u made w valid pt lmao. Vision and a locker room is all u need apperently |
So true! I never knew any ECNL "dual rostered" kids that ever moved up in my former club. It was definitely a tactic to get more talent on the RL team and make $$$ in the process. Sure they trained together but never stepped foot on the field for any ECNL games. Go where you're wanted! |
That is exactly what they did in the past. They even brought in new players after the season started when they already had more girls on the team than they could dress for games. |
I wonder how the VRSC parents will deal with going from being happy their kid makes GA to wondering why they had to purchase uniforms when their kid is never allowed to dress for games |
Putting something on VRSC that hasn't even happened yet, let's see how it plays out. Until then, we could ask the FCV parents how they deal with it. |
“Oh that won’t happen to my DD! They told me she’s really good and they can definitely see her playing GA!” 😉 |
lol |
I'm guessing they'll want to make the most of their new acceptance into GA by slapping the GA name on every team in some form or fashion. GA, GA2, GA II, GA Rising, GA Next, Pre-GA, Almost GA, etc. They know that parents and players are chasing that badge even if they don't realize that there can only be 30 girls on the GA team roster and 18 that can play league games. Here, iron this GA patch on your jersey and then hurry up and get going so you're not late to your EDP game! |
+100 |
It's almost like hey let's make up an excuse why they're allowed in our league. |
theres a lot of ecnl parents that are worried about two GA teams. what children lol |
When you compare it to the things that the GA cited in the announcement of all the other clubs that they recently accepted, that's very much what it was like. No one can make an honest argument that Revolution was accepted into GA based on anything that they've accomplished to date in terms of player development, coaching or performance on the field. This was based on them hiring 90% of the FCV coaches and hoping that they can convince existing FCV GA players to switch clubs. Like them or not, you can't argue that FCV generally had a good record overall in GA. The GA's announcement about accepting Revolution might as well have read "We know this announcement is going to raise some eyebrows because we're accepting a club that has no track record for developing players, coaches who mostly have C and D licenses, a TD who coaches but has no coaching credentials beyond grassroots and existing girls teams that struggle to win games in EDL/NCSL. In spite of all that, we believe in the FCV staff to either be able to convince FCV GA players to change clubs or, over the course of a few years, to be able to attract and develop players such that the club will be able to be competitive in our league. We also found buried in the fine print of the GA charter, a clause which states that we will accept any club who owns the facility where they practice." |
