I don’t think it’s insane, unfortunately. My friends were robbed last summer by their handyman (who knew they were out of town). |
| I think it’s suspicious. Most tradesman barely show up when you BEG them to. |
Apologize for what? Answering the door? |
I make sure there is always someone at home when we have tradespeople here. No one ever comes without an appointment. This is suspicious behavior and I would not hire this person again. |
| I had an electrician show up a couple weeks after he did some wiring during our kitchen renovation. He somehow messed up job locations - and sincerely was surprised when I told him we had not scheduled and, by the way, you were here a few weeks ago as a sub-contractor. Would not be surprised if a handyman goes to 3-5 houses some days. |
And you’re naive. |
If OP were black, Asian, or Hispanic would they also be "paranoid"? |
Why not? It happens all the time. Add to that copper pipes and wiring, flooring, fixtures, tools, etc. They steal from trucks parked right in front of the house in broad daylight. You sounds terribly naive. |
+1. Racist and misogynist. |
| OP what he did was weird. You're not paranoid, nor the one to blame for his odd behavior. He should know better, and do better. |
| Trust your gut. OP I think your suspicions are right on target. Get your cameras up and running and don't hire this person again. How did you find him? |
| I would be suspicious too. We have a friend with a vacant house being renovated. It was broken into (copper pipes stollen). Get some cameras asap. I wouldn’t trust the handyman either, why wouldn’t he just call? |
NP. You don't know what you are talking about at all. So Calm the F down. And apologize to OP. Who definitely has her handyman looking to rob her empty house of the new appliances recently delivered there. |
Are you dense? Can you read? This is her HANDYMAN. He’s already been doing work inside her home. This isn’t some vagrant from outside stealing stuff. He’s a contractor. He works FOR her. |
