Where is CC going? |
A lot of people are throwing rumors to the wind but maybe he's finally stepping away from soccer. That's a possibility too. Not everybody wants to work forever. |
He’s going to VA Revolution. They announced it today. |
Well at least the rumor mill can stop as far as where he's going. |
Wow, yeah, saw that on Instagram. It does not say what his role is. |
His role is getting paid more than he was by TSJ, I suspect. If BP leaves, too, Loudoun seems likely to be the biggest beneficiary. |
We are excited to welcome Christian Cziommer to Revolution. Christian brings a wealth of experience coaching in both the U.S and Germany. He holds a UEFA A license and a Master's degree in Sports Science from Sports University in Cologne, Germany.
Christian served as Technical Director at The St James FCV for the past 13 years. “VA Revolution has a special setup that is centered around building a real Club culture that makes players, parents, and coaches feel like they are part of a big family.” says Cziommer, “I am looking forward to bringing my experience to the club and helping to build something unique that will always be centered around the players.” Technical Director, Niko Eckart says “The team and I are very excited to welcome Christian to VA Revolution. We are impressed with his vision for our current programs and future platforms coupled with his vast experience building nationally recognized teams within the DMV area.” Christian will join Revolution on January 1, 2024. |
Why would anybody go to Loudoun? All of their ECNL teams are terrible. |
Not the girls, 09s, 08s and 07s are quality teams. 07s have a nice commitment list already. Seems you have no idea what you are talking about. |
Now the biggest question with this move is what happens to the FCV girls teams? Do they continue with just the FFX location? Can VRSC pick up FCV's GA teams in Loudoun? If FCV continues with their plan to expand to places like Willowsford and Sterling, do they have the field space? Feel bad for FCV parents that are left without a TD in the middle of their season. |
Don't see why any of the GA teams be picked up by VRSC. That would be a backwards move. VRSC girls program isn't even on an NPL level. |
Yes, and a big reason for that is because of this NVA merger. They could not develop their own players in house and needed to draw more competitive players in to compete against stronger ECNL teams. Our team beat their 06G ECNL team in a tournament. Loudoun also was not transparent about the NVA plan and upset a lot of parents who had players who would have moved up or not given the opportunity. They didn't answer any questions during the Town Hall and purposefully ignored parents who had pointed questions about the merger. |
Which is why it could be a good move. To strengthen the girls teams. |
FC Virginia will be fine. CC was HUGE in making that the program it is, for the girls. There will be some changes, not everyone will like them and that's okay, but things will stay the same too. I hope it's the best decision for him and not just VRSC trying to buy everything and everyone. |
Nobody mentioned the 06 team as being good. |
