LMAO Virginia Revolution SC trying to buy everyone and everything and kick everyone else out. Virginia Revolution kicked out Barca Academy Northern Virginia, Shenandoah FC, now they're trying to kick out FC Virginia, then they'll try their hardest to buy their way into ECNL and MLS. When their unethical doings and everything is exposed they'll come crumbling down. A shame good players, good coaches, and even better kids have to be around such things. |
No chance it would happen. Those teams barely hang on in NCSL. Nobody is going from GA to NCSL lol. |
Please don't bring BP with you... please don't bring BP with you..... Signed, Every VA Revolution Parent |
Can someone give me a primer on what team became what? Is revolution new? I'm an MD soccer parent and I think I missed the news events here... |
Revolution is developing it's own IMG in Loudoun. School + sports |
Well, the reality is that Revolution is probably a decade away from being able to get into a better league than NCSL/EDP with their current leadership and quality of teams. They have strong financial backing, though, so the obvious path forward is to “buy their way” in. Bringing in someone like CC who has been around and understands the youth soccer landscape is no doubt a big win for them. AFAIK, FCV (and thus their GA charter) is still part of STJ so I don’t see this suddenly changing anything for Revolution overnight. If things fall apart at FCV, then of course those players will go somewhere else but it won’t be to play NCSL/EDP at Revolution. Ultimately, it’s a smart business decision for them and I’m sure CC won’t mind getting paid more. |
The best take yet. |
Unless StJ gives (sells) their girls academy charter and teams over to Revolution. Then they just keep the teams intact with CC running it. Basically the same thing with new uniforms. |
Curious to see how that plays out! |
Which could also be true. And that would probably be the best possible outcome for Revolution because as was said above, they’re not going to be getting into a league like ECNL or GA on their own for a very long time. Everybody has their price. If STJ wants to be done with FCV, they would no doubt find a very eager buyer in Revolution. |
Depends on where they will practice next year which is a big issue. If their practice fields and home base move to Springfield, then this will be impactful to the current players and families. |
And how is this so different than what Loudoun Soccer is doing how? We have experienced WAY worse things at Loudoun so I fail to see how picking up CC is "unethical"? Do you have evidence that they "kicked out" Barca? FCV knew they were not going to stay at that facility it was pretty common knowledge. VRSC merged with Shenandoah FC, so not sure what you are talking about? |
What about George Mason's fields? Definitely closer to the western Fairfax/loudoun folks than Springfield. |

FC Virginia will be fine. CC was HUGE in making that the program it is, for the girls. There will be some changes, not everyone will like them and that's okay, but things will stay the same too. I hope it's the best decision for him and not just VRSC trying to buy everything and everyone.

Agreed. Field space and location will matter to many. And no, Bles Park ain't an answer many will accept. |
Revolution has cash but no idea how to use it. Despite buying the facility, upgrading it, spending on coaches, their teams have gone backwards over the last couple of years. The results are worse, but more importantly, they just don’t play well. CC might be good, but he’s not a miracle worker. How does it make sense to bring in a guy who has been a TD at a far better club and not give him the same job? It’s not like Clyde is their TD.
And partnering with DC United? Good luck with that. That’s going to be a one way relationship. |
