OP, I’m praying for you and your child and your family. Try to get some rest yourself, even just closing your eyes. I pray for a full and swift turnaround today, this very minute.

Please update when you can.

I’m holding you and your daughter in the light, op.

Still thinking of you and your daughter and sending all my best, OP. I’m really glad they’ve found an antibiotic that seems to be working. Improvement overnight sounds like a positive trend. Big hugs.

She is still very ill unfortunately. They've found medicines to have some impact, but her body is still resisting. It was looking better throughout the day she was slowly waking up a little. Her breathing was still heavy but blood pressure had gotten close to normal. The doctors were talking about a general ward move this morning. However about 10pm her oxygen levels started to drop alarmingly and they've had to but her on a ventilator. The doctors have said it is acute respiratory distress syndrome.

The positive news is over the night a lot of vital signs have improved to suggest they've found the effective antibiotics. They're going to assess throughout the day if ventilation can be removed quickly.

Hopefully we've hit our lowest point and this is the turning point to improvement.

I'm shattered but I don't want to leave her more than an hour as it can change so fast. She's very asleep so hopefully isn't feeling anything.

Thanks for the prayers, God is fighting with her. She's amazing and a fighter, so if anyone can beat this it's her

Yikes, that's very stressful, OP. I'd be a total wreck. Please remember to eat and sleep as much as your anxiety allows. If you have other children, I hope they're not feeling too badly.

Keep updating us. We're all rooting for your family!!!

OP here-Hi all thanks for your messages it means the world. Hopefully we've seen lots of good signs throughout today. They're weaning off sedation for early morning wake up and hopefully everything goes smoothly then. Things are looking better and the antibiotics have taken hold. Obviously her body is still shaken up and vitals aren't back to normal but blood pressure and oxygen levels have improved greatly. If she can get through this step and breathe on her own again it will be a huge step forward and a good sign for recovery.

Thank you all, the prayers have meant the world and having a non judgemental place to externalise my thoughts has kept my mental health from falling to pieces.

I've a 6 year old daughter as well, she's with DHs parents and we've kept her somewhat sheltered but obviously the emergency rush scared her. They are amazing, and I don't know how they got over as fast as the EMTs but it's meant one less worry.

Thanks again for the prayers, I will try to share an update tomorrow morning, but as you can understand if she's coming round I'll be with her most of the time.
