| DM reports he played pickle ball, got in tub, sent his assistant out on an errand. When they came back they found him and they called 911. |
Your post was the first thing I thought of immediately after I heard the news. |
| Dang there was a post on here I saw yesterday about him and his instagram posts and someone had a bad premonition about it. May he rest peacefully |

Very sad to read this news.
I am the same age as Matthew Perry and always enjoyed watching him on Friends. I read his book last year and was genuinely shocked at how much pain he has endured in his struggle with addiction. It is sad to say, but he might be more at peace now, as he felt so much pain in his daily life. I do not think that he had much if any enjoyment in life. |
If the assistant came back and found him (submerged? And unresponsive), why would the 911 call have specified “cardiac arrest”? How would the assistant have know it was cardiac arrest if MP had already drowned? |
| He was my favorite friend. It’s sad that his life was so hard when he brought joy to so many. |
| I find it weird that WaPo has no mention of it but other papers, including NYT, have it. Are they too good for a mention of a Friends actor? There’s a lot of other incredibly lite “news” on there so I’m curious as to the reason for leaving this out. |
| Could this BE any sadder? |
He had a really sad life. I am sure he wished he had not been an addict. I am so sad about this. |
I came here to say this too! Seems really odd they wouldn’t have verified and reported it by now. |
There’s an obituary: https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/2023/10/28/matthew-perry-dead-drowning-friends/87c5132c-75f9-11ee-936d-7a16ee667359_story.html |
The way hot tubs mess with your circulatory system could impact a person with cardiac issues. https://health.clevelandclinic.org/hot-tubs-can-land-your-heart-in-hot-water/ |
Love love |
| His parents are still alive. So sad for them. |
NYT has two stories about the news in their front page. |
