MCCPTA is a show and they aren't going to do anything if there is an issue. There have been PTA's in the past with issues and they never got involved. They have the same people running it who refuse to step down and don't even have kids in MCPS anymore. They are completely not responsive or helpful except to collect dues. |
Another poster - ours is on the up and up and we do a financial section at each and every meeting with full accountability. At another school we are involved with everything is very secret and they have plenty of money and yet constantly asking for food and other donations so it very much makes me wonder where the money goes as we've done far more staff appreciation with very little money than they've done when they have a lot of money. |
It’s mind boggling some think people volunteering for their kids school do it for some nefarious reason, like stealing $100 at the bake sale.
I suspect it’s just the OP sock puppet posting. If you really are this type of person, I kindly ask you to refrain from getting involved in your schools PTA, save the toxic attitude for your friends and family. Shocking how the crazy moms badmouth the room parent or other PTA parents with no evidence. Just disgusting gossip and speculation. |
Lots if documented evidence. Factual and even arrests. Shocking is stupidity of people who ignore reality. |
I have been a room parent with another parent who stole the money. I had to pay for the parties as the teacher told Mets he collected it and gave it to the other parent who would not buy anything give me the money. |
If someone would bring this up without solid evidence to back it up, 100% I would stop talking to that person. To insinuate people are stealing is so low class and pathetic. |
Then stop. Rules exist for a reason, to prevent theft. Safeguarding parents contributions is being respectful of oarents. Not following rules shows parents their contributions are not valued. |
They won’t step down or other people won’t step up? |
You are focused on theft from PTAs to an unhealthy degree. I think your issues are elsewhere. Do you feel left out from your current organization, don’t get along with the leadership, disagree with how things are run? All are valid reasons for discontent, but to jump to accusations of theft is a step too far. You can also argue that the way things are run is a reflection of general membership voting. Step up, throw your hat in the ring and work to change things in the right way, not gossiping behind people’s back. From my experience you’d probably not be very good at leading a PTA. It’s not about who’s wright or wrong, leadership is about motivating people to work towards a common goal. Given that PTAs are volunteer run, you need a lot of good will and trust, both of which you seem to lack. |
You are obsessed with not following the rules. Thanks for being such an easy mark. When anyone robs or steals from you remember they are just volunteers. Don’t call police or cancel your credit card. All thief's are volunteers. |
You’re just proving my point. |
No, I have been very involved with one of ours for several years. I have also left ones not well run and very shady. I have seen lots of shady stuff. Ours has been very well run with very little money as we got very creative. Let me guess. You just like to throw stones or someone that insists on running the pta and does little. Or very questionable things and those of us who run it properly you try to run out to hide what you are doing. |
No one wants to deal with them. There are too many issues. The Maryland state was shut down because of fraud and other things. The are having to start a new one. |
Yeah, you have the social skills of a toddler throwing tantrums. |
