I am not aging

I am still fairly young so I don’t know how I’ll age but hopefully I’m not writing essays about it

Lol! I like to write. I'm a published author and a blogger, though not on aging.

NP. I liked your post, PP! Especially the bit about the elevator guy(s). All the best to you!

I thought I wasn't aging either. Then I got glasses. My gawd.

I was like this until I let my nephew take my favorite ring with him on a long trip.

OP I never exercise. I eat junk food, I don’t go to doctor.

I just noticed I am turning 62 soon and people my age are retiring or looking like crap.

Or been downsized into some crappy job. Just hanging on. Waiting for death.

Perhaps it is my youngest is 16 and I still somehow perhaps due to out necessity I still have a big job at work with staff, office and next year doing college tours and such and have to have energy.

I still have 4 years of college to pay for and my mortgage is not paid off till 2037. So 62 is meaningless.

I may work at least to 70 perhaps 80!! We have a few people on our Board in their 80s

OP so sad. I don’t wear glasses. have perfect teeth and no gray hair. Not one wrinkle.

Hung like a donkey, Tiger in Bed, memory of an elephant and body of a Greek God.

LOL. Well, that's cool. The thing is, nothing is permanent. Enjoy it while you got it, but act like it's temporary, because it is.

OP--you give me great hope!!

I'm about to turn 54 and literally feel no different than 20-30 years ago. I'm still 'box-jumping', heavy barbell squatting, doing burpees, jogging, Spinning, running, etc.

I have very few grays. I do get the few I have colored every 5-6 weeks.

My skin is in great shape. Olive skin. Pretty much no wrinkles. I am same size I have always been. Still getting periods--but tests shows I have been in perimenopause for a long time.

My mother is 80 and literally runs circles around people half her age. She is very, very mobile and active. My dad was similar. He had no gray hair and looked 55 when he passed away from cancer at 76. He was also very active, up on all the latest technology (before I was!), no wrinkles.

Oh- I don't need readers either. I can read the tiny print still which drives my husband and friends crazy. I'm reading the menu for the rest of them at restaurants .

That's awesome!

I have zero medical issues and on no medicine.

Will it all kick in at once?

Not sure. Met MIL at that age, and she already had grey/white hair and her skin, demeanor, and mannerisms looked much, much older. My mom, in her 80's has neither. So, the answer is, it depends on genetics and background. In many cases, the darker you are, the less likely you are to show age.

Anonymous wrote:I'm 72 and look about 20 years younger. I've also had the receptionists at my doctor's office comment on my appearance versus my age. However, no one but your family will be happy about this for you. It tends to bring out extreme jealousy in others, because who wants to look old even if it's natural to do so? Old indicates decay, which does not look good. This is an anonymous board. You would think it would be okay to speak about this here, but no. Haters are gonna hate. I'm just waiting for people to tell me here, I'm delusional for thinking I look 20 years younger, but I actually do.

I've moisturized my skin everyday since I was a teenager, my spouse was employed with GNC, so I've always taken lots of vitamins, minerals, and supplements, I own lots of anti-aging facial devices, though I rarely use them anymore. I eat a healthy low-carb diet with lots of whole grains, vegetables and low glycemic fruits, nuts and meats, seafood and poultry. Drink lots of water. I'm diabetic, it runs in my family. I need to exercise much more than I actually do.

I've been married twice, both husbands died. I have no desire to date anymore, but in the past month I've had the following happen to me. Two male airline employees tried to hit on me. Three elderly men in an elevator fell all over themselves trying to escort me off of the elevator, and a man about 15 years my junior turned red and began to stutter when he talked to me. I've known for several years that he has a crush on me.

I'm grateful I look youthful, but at this age I don't know what I'm really supposed to do with it. Not looking for a mate or husband.

Finally, I am African-American and I have good genes. My mother also looked good for her age, though she was never into supplements, devices, healthy eating, etc. Okay haters come on.

This is your answer, OP.

Are you single? You sound like you are unmarried and don’t have kids.

I don't need readers because I am short sighted. I just put my glasses on top of my head to read.
