Did you go through menopause late? I suspect late menopause is associated with longevity. Also was menopause easy for you? |
I have dark blonde hair with strands of white that don't come across as gray. It isn't bright, though, like it used to be, and I could highlight it but I'm not going to.
My wrinkles started to emerge, mildly but noticeably at age 64- 65. It does happen. |
My vagina smells like a goat. |
My mom is also 86 and no medication. She does have some arthritis and pains from when she fell in her youth. She is tiny but has a belly. She talks about going on a diet to reduce her belly but eats chips and donuts. Honestly. I didn’t think one would care about one’s weight at such an old age, unless it was related to health. |
This is me too... I am 52 and cringe when I see pictures of myself especially as a teenager. I also get mistaken for looking a lot younger now, however, this seems to be common on both sides of my family. |
Agree |
Be careful with that bragging. My husband was in excellent health, about your age and looked fantastic. One day we had to go to the ER. He had stage 4 cancer, no symptoms until that day and died 6 months later. You are aging…..at least appreciate your years. |
Good grief…. ![]() |
I looked good until about 5 years after I hit menopause and then everything started to catch up. |
Age 62. Overall I feel pretty good.
No prescription meds. Alas I color my hair as it started going gray in my 20's due to genetics. I lift weights and stay active. |
I turned 62 recently. I am aging, obviously, but no meds, healthy weight, no health issues, exercise regularly, very little grey hair, etc. Definitely look on the younger side for my age. But as I look at people a decade or so older I see people who look much older. I think aging starts to accelerate after 60, and I'm sure it will hit me as it will you OP. |
Acquaintances and strangers ask me about my hair all the time. It’s very long so I guess people notice. But the universe wasn’t going to completely bless me, because my eyebrows and eyelashes are white, so unless I dye them, I look like a corpse. . |
I look okay now, 60, but I dread the next 10 years… |
+1. Similar experience. |
I don’t understand this reaction. It’s my real life. I had acne young and never stopped using retin-A. And if you use Retin-A you have to use sunscreen. So my skin is very nice for someone my age. Plus that gene. The gene sequencing was to find genetic issues I may have passed on to my kids. Do you think I did it to find out if I have the “youth gene?” Anyways, it does create a weird situation when you are middle-aged but look much younger. And my cardiologist was giving me a stress test and he said well you’re almost 50 so you’re getting older…you might not *look* it, but you are getting older… |
