IMO tallish starts at 5’10

Same.

Toooooo tall is 6’3 +

Clearly a midget wrote this. I'm 6'4" and I'm awesome.

Tall is 6-2+. 5-10-6-1 I'm not going to notice your height one way or the other if you're a white guy. Slightly above average. Dime a dozen.

5-10 is not tall at all. Give me a break.

These posters saying 5’6” is average and 5’10” is tall must be short. 5’9” is average. https://www.medicinenet.com/height_men/article.htm#:~:text=Average%20Height%20for%20Men%20in,roughly%205%20feet%2C%208%20inches

I am a very petite woman and I don’t consider a man tall unless he’s over 6’.

No way. Beautiful and average height is better than tall and average looking. For sure

It’s not fair, but tall isn’t an advantage for women. All those short men with insecurities will be intimidated. Most of the executive women I see are tiny little people.

I’m honestly think height and looks matter less now.

Pre 1999 lots of companies had HR recruiting in lobby outside guards desk. You literally could walk in with a paper resume, briefcase, nice suit and fill out an application,

Looks really mattered. I recall fresh with my MBA in 1991 taking train to Manhattan having wrote down addresses of HR departments from the US Job Bank Book in reference section of library. I had my best suit, Seiko watch, freshly shined shoes, new white shirt and power tie with a fancy briefcase.

Being six foot two inch, in shape good looking white man with a firm handshake and single in my 20s I got interviews same day some places.

Today it just goes into black hole of the applicant tracking system when they query it based on data.

Downside no more rags to riches stories. But remember back in day HR was full of young single girls. A good looking young single guy in person hard to turn down. Nowadays HR is more balanced with older married people.

Handsome can matter a lot on the social side when looking for a significant other though.

being 6’7” is such a freakishly rare occurrence you don’t see many people like that period. Except maybe in the nba.

Its the same as 4'7".

Tall. But it’s cancelled out if you’re fat

People who pick partners for superficial qualities they inherited like height, looks, race, religion, wealth often end up disappointed.

I don't believe you. No man would admit to being that short. You must be actually 5'0"

I do know a guy who is 5 ft 6 and attained a non supervisory GS -15 position, but he's very very very smart, very hard working, and hilarious.

Gov is full of short men, it’s generally more equitable hiring and less ageism.

Old short men have few other options in fact.

But pay is bleh.

I confirm. Not Fed but other govt. we are incredibly staffed with many, many not tall men. (Way different than the private sector worked in) Though the vast majority of the dept. & unit heads were noticeably tall men.

Well I did think I was 5’6” for a while, and didn’t think I was short — I thought I just hung out with tall friends (i grew up poor, so there were a lot of guys shorter than me probably nutrition or env factors — hence THEY were short, not me. Delusion is a powerful drug).

Men in leadership tend to look better than average (face and height) while neither is particularly true for women. Interesting phenomenon.

Maybe in Vietnam that’s average, but in America it’s more like 5’9” and 5’4”
