VA Democratic House candidate performed sex acts online for tips

This is just really sad. 1) these people lived streamed their sex acts and asked for money to perform certain things “for a good cause” [what’s the cause?] (vs I guess just video taping themselves for their private viewing, 2) they’re so dumb they cannot understand that with almost 6,000 followers on chaterbate or whatever it’s called that no one they knew would ever find this, 3) they’re so dumb they did several of these kind of live streams, 4) they’re so dumb they didn’t think these videos would be published on other websites (chaterbate put it up on other sites as well as the risk someone screen records it via live streams or on any of the other sites) and 5) they’re so dumb they’re now saying this is revenge p@rn, even though they put them on the public domain and they’re claiming because the videos originally were behind a paywall (that ANYONE can pay) they’re private.

I’m pretty liberal, but how could this not have been discovered in a vetting process. How could this woman not think this wouldn’t be discovered. And why is this candidate the best the Democratic Party could come up with? This is pathetic. If she wants to live stream her stuff, whatever, but don’t cry foul when people find it. I would have such a hard time voting for someone so stupid.

The dialogue from one of her videos is reported in this article and it's pretty cringe. There were over a dozen videos of them on the website. It appears to all have been her idea, she's just very "liberated", into non-monogamy and open marriage.

Her district includes Western Henrico, Goochland and Louisa. Her only hope IMO now is if the liberals in Henrico can stomach it, which I think they can. But Goochland and Louisa are pretty red. Those voters, if they were on the fence, probably won't vote for her now. It's a shame.

Which wrong are you talking about? It's wrong when people don't or can't consent. But everyone involved here was an adult and consenting. I would have zero problems voting for someone who created x-rated content, as long as everyone involved in the content was an adult and consenting.

I do take issue with Gibson and her campaign claiming that she is a victim of a sex crime, which IMO does a real disservice to actual sex crime victims. She and her husband self published these videos and considering both are highly educated (including him being a lawyer FFS) they have no leg to stand on claiming that these videos were “private”. This isn’t a case of their computer or phones being hacked.

Think of actual sex crime victims. She isn’t one of them and this is what upsets me the most. Not that she’s a freak in the sheets or an exhibitionist. That she claims what happens to her puts her in the same category as a r@PE victim (like that poor girl at LSU or the Jane Does in the Masterson trial or the millions of other women and men who never report it). Not the same, at all.
