That’s what we always do. Trade seats halfway or skip it.

Not me. My DH tends to listen to music on his airpods most of the flight and I tend to work so I don't really need to sit next to him and vice versa. I would, and have, totally take the upgrade. One time I did get major brownie points by giving my upgrade to my MIL who was traveling with us. It was a short domestic flight and she was pretty excited about it.

She has a vagina. And thinks it is her right

Why is this a problem?

I was in a similar situation due to flight cancellations from Rome to DC. DH spends hours on phone with British airways. They were able to get us two seats in Business and one in coach on a 10 hour flight to Charlotte. He didn’t even have to think about it, he gave me and our tween the two business class seats and he took the middle seat in coach.
Your husband is selfish. A real man would always offer the better situation to a woman.

Barf.

Sorry your spouse sucks.

Uh, no. “The best seat on the plane is the one next to him” was infantile, nauseating pablum.

-DP with awesome husband

No, it’s just the truth. Think back to when you were first dating your spouse. You would never have wanted to be separated from them on a plane ride, right? You’d want to be next to them to lean against them, whisper in their ear, watch movies together, generally bask in their company. That’s how my husband and I still are. You don’t feel the same because your marriage is stale. It’s okay, lots of people’s marriages are after a decade or two and some kids. So you’d rather have the solitude and free champagne.

We asked the gate agent, who just stated it may have been a “systems issue” and that, she could put us both in coach, but couldn’t upgrade us both. DH didn’t think twice about taking the business class seat or offering it to me.

Coach was full of crying babies, loud, and far from the champagne and snacks of my DH’s experience. DH texted me a picture of a plate of cheese.

I think I’m going to let him do the vacation laundry when we get home.

Nice.

What kind of cheese?

A real woman wouldn’t whine about this on DCUM.

This happened to a friend of mine - except her DH left her in Coach with 2 small children. The marriage did not last.

Husband “accidentally” gets upgraded to business class and texts you a picture of cheese plate.

Troll grade C- Get a life.
