Or Louisiana. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisiana_State_Penitentiary Literally the largest prison in the US located in a "Tough on crime" state and that state's cities have worse crime issues than DC. |
This is so true. |
Then how can it be that red states and rural areas are also seeing similar increases in crime? I think you’re just another partisan mud slinger. |
I have no idea. I live in DC. I can only speak to the foolish choices of the elected leaders here. But if I had to guess I’d bet the data is incomplete because out of over 18,000 law enforcement agencies across the country, the FBI only received data from approximately 9,800 of them. As a result, the 2021 stats dont capture the true scope of crime wave that has erupted in cities. Not to mention that many cities have decriminalized activities that are still crimes in red states. |
Exactly. |
| None of these violent kids have been arrested? This is appalling. Their entire families should be thoroughly ashamed. |
They aren't. |

DC is trending significantly worse than other areas. You can stick your head in the sand all you want, but it won’t make you any safer. |
Are they? Anecdotally everyone I know who is concerned about crime lives in an urban area in a blue state. No one I know in red state cities has complained about an increase in crime. |
Unfortunately this. Charles Allen has been wagging his finger for years how the poor teenage criminals are actually the real victims here. Any possibility we can finally vote him out? |
True. I have lived in both DC and Red states. And now live in rural Maryland. There is really no comparison as it relates to the violent crime and the sense of lawlessness you feel. |
A natural consequence of living in a news desert. |
Well that makes sense if the conservatives are using crime as a wedge against dems. That’s exactly how that would play out. And that is what's happening. The data are clear. |
Vote him out? He ran unopposed. This is what his constituents want. |
