Is your MS son taller than you yet?

He hit his puberty growth spurt early - started at the end of 5th grade when he was 11. He grew 8 inches and his voice changed over that year. It was insane - he has dark, horizontal stretch marks all up and down his back.

Dad is 6'1" but we have several men who are 6'4" on both sides of the family.

My younger son, who is only 10, is already 5'2" and has not hit puberty.

Boys who grow that early tend to stop growing early too. He’ll probably top out at 5’11”.

This is true for precocious puberty, but for boys that's before age 9. 11 is a normal age for puberty, though on the early side of normal. Either way, 5'11" is a perfectly respectable height, so if this is it, no big deal!

My rising 7th grader just matched my height, 5’7. Dad is 6’2. I do hope his feet stop growing though, they are huge.

It's not that hard to surpass me, I'm 5'2.
Boy:
Age 12- 5'2. Doctor said boys will grow between 4-6inches at 12 and 13, maybe 14 too. Then, the growth is less each year after that.
Age 13 - 5'7
Age 13.5 - 5'9
When will he close in on Dad's height at 6'3? We will see if it happens at 14.
But, he is as lean as a chopstick.
My boy's voice has been trying to crack for over 9 months. At first, i thought it was a cold. Then that 'cold' carried into spring. Now, at 13.5, I notice it but still not entirely changed to a deep voice yet.

OP asked for middle school aged.

That is middle school age. 8th graders turn 14 in 8th grade. August is just before the cut off (most are turn 5 by Sept 1 or Sept 30), so lots of August boys are held back. But the 'on time' kids start turning 14 at the beginning of the school year too.

+1

My son turned 14 in Nov of 8th and was sent on time. We know a fair number of redshirted boys with summer birthdays

My 12.5 year old, rising 7th grade, son just lost his last baby tooth this past week, measured a smidge taller than me at 5'8 and has a little more bass (and squeaks) in his voice.
