Weird situation with neighbor

Anonymous
show neighbor lady the screen shots of the delivery and the lady taking the package inside. then say you'd like it back. if she doesn't hand it over, you'll "unfortunately need to file police report". Lady will go retrieve the package from her hoarding pile.

Y'all are insane. OP, call the customer service for whoever was used to deliver. They generally will try to make good (say you call as soon as you get delivery notification, and discover the package missing), or contact the seller to alert them. Concurrently, you should also contact the seller. Don't give anyone any stories about what your neighbor may or may not have done. Keep it simple. 'It says here that my package was delivered, but I haven't received it'. This issue is for them to sort out. IF the seller gives you a hard time, then contact your CC company to dispute charges.

We have a house number that's the same as the house number for another house that backs up onto our property. About 10% of the time, they end up with our deliveries. I have never had any issues either getting it redelivered, or getting a refund/the product re-sent. In fact, it happened last week with our Green Chef order. We ended up with a refund because food.

We've had a very similar situation with a neighbor. DH ordered an adult trike (we're trying to do our shopping locally) and neighbor at first mocked us but then said he was going to get one. Next thing we know (evening of June 22 or 23) DH's trike is gone. Neighbor saw us (two days later) and said he ordered one and it would "be delivered soon." So predictable as next we see him riding trike that we feel very sure is DH's. We asked him about it and he said he bought it on eBay but we didn't see any completed listings that fit. This past weekend he rode by our house, gave me the finger, and called us "losers." He is the loser. So angry.

If your neighbor says she doesn't have it, you really ought to believe her. It's not nice to accuse someone of something unless you have proof. You have proof the package was dropped on her front porch. That's it!

Please read the thread before commenting. The OP's camera caught the neighbor retrieving the package and bringing it inside.

You need to read the thread before commenting. Nowhere did the op say the neighbor retrieved the package. All the op’s camera caught was the package being delivered.

It’s on page 1, the 13:24 post.

You’re being bullied by your neighbor or this is a plot line from South Park or the Simpson’s.

Yes we are being bullied. And it is not acceptable. Do we have options?

Moron, call the police? for WHAT??

FOUND THE THIEF!!!

"When the package never arrived I looked into the tracking and the picture it has with it matches the house across the street. In addition, we have on our ring camera a package being delivered at the same time as the time stamp on the delivery photo."

That's enough right there for the police report.

NO IT IS NOT! You have to have proof that someone from inside the home opened the door and picked up the package. What is wrong with you people. I thought there was a higher level of critical thinking on here. This is pretty basic though. There is no proof that someone from inside that home put their hands on that package. None. Take it up with the seller/sender! The End!

Read the thread before you spout off stupidity. She has them on camera!

Anonymous wrote:The neighbors could have called the police ON YOU claiming you were harassing her. True story, was told by an Amazon CS person to never pursue the misdelivered packages. In my case my neighbor stole my cutting board worth $12 or so.

Give me a break. Amazon CS did not tell you that.

OP contact the seller, hopefully it was insured and can be re-shipped with no loss to the seller.

Most police departments have an online reporting system for incidents like this. File there if you are inclined, but don’t call.

Uh no, pp. That isn't harassment.

Call the cops. That’s what they are there for. If the first person answering the phone doesn’t help ask to speak to their boss

I have it on the camera her bringing it in approximately 2 hours after it was delivered.

Call police. She is a thief.

Anonymous wrote:People around here at weird. I have a feeling they open the package, discover It's not theirs, and then panic that they have "stolen" something. So their only choice is to deny having made a mistake because they don't make mistakes.

Yeah. I opened a box without looking at the address label. I was surprised it wasn’t mine. I felt embarrassed retaping it and giving it to the person (whom I knew). But I did do it. I could see someone feeling too uncomfortable to admit it though. (Although, I agree that it’s super weird, especially when it seems to be something expensive.

I would just said, ok, I have the footage and will turn over to the police.

PP OP NP. What a pleasant surprise. Neighbor returned adult trike to DH. We did not even have to ask, let alone inform law enforcement. He said he didn't feel right about stealing it and asked for frogiveness. We said of course we were not ones to hold a grudge with him or anyone trying to do the right thing. He said he once stole plastic hat (a pretend miner's hat from a museum in West Virginia) and was going to try to find the original owner. We said that was great. DH is so happy to have trike back.

It was supposed to require signature but the package handler must have forged it. When the package never arrived I looked into the tracking and the picture it has with it matches the house across the street. In addition, we have on our ring camera a package being delivered at the same time as the time stamp on the delivery photo.

Friday, I knocked on the neighbor’s door and asked if I could grab it and thanked her for bringing it in. She denied having it and said she never brought it in. I told her we had it on camera and she just stood there with no emotion and said she had no idea what I’m talking about.

First, where do I go from here? I’m not sure what a middle aged woman will do with a several motors and controllers for RC aircraft, so it’s not like it’s something she can wear/ use/ re-sell without knowing the niche market.

Total value is about $375.

Stop dealing with the neighbor and contact the seller/shipper and tell them you never got it/tracking picture is not of your house. This is not your problem to solve.
