Double Murder Near Marshall HS

This would be a totally different thread if it had been two neighborhood kids who died. "Oh the apartments off of Los Pueblos Way, obviously there was a drug-related shooting there, whatever, nobody will miss those two kids. Typical bad kids from a bad neighborhood. They were super disruptive in class. Good riddance."

You know it's true. I saw the racist posts on this thread before they were deleted.

There's also the strange piecemeal way that this has been reported, since the teens were from several different jurisdictions and mostly the coverage has been local. So we've been hearing bits and pieces from a very local perspective.

I had mentioned this story to a friend because my kid is in WL, and she said that her kid was in school with the other teen. I don’t condone it, it is very stupid, but how many of you pearl clutchers “knew a guy who could get me a joint” when you were in HS? I never partook, but I knew who to ask if I had wanted to. Nice enough guy - still talk to them today and are grown up in a white collar job.

So you would be okay with your child being the neighborhood drug dealer because most likely he's going to grow up and have a perfectly respectable white collar job? Is that what you're saying?? Why don't you just give him the money to help fund that habit, then? Go on.

Of course not, but it’s posts like this that prove my point. Not every person who sells drugs as a teen is Scarface. And unless you’ve never smoked a joint in your life, you’re a hypocrite who wanted to tell yourself “oh, this one is fine because I got it from a guy I knew and he’s okay”.

Info on the 18 year old was released. Info on the 17 year old won't be as he is a minor.

Interesting to see what one of the parents does for a living.

Do we think this event is the reason that Marshall HS parents just got the Support Resources note from school? Or was there something else?

The note started with "Following a recent act of violence in our community, our crisis team has been putting together resources to support students who continue to express fear or anxiety about what happened."

NP here. I assume PP is referring to the fact that the father of Deahl is a substance abuse counselor.
