Agree that each person here went to the extreme. There is a policy. Kids got away with breaking policy for a time. One day they didn’t get to break policy and they sue.
Did they or their parents try to change the policy before the lawsuit? |
What policy was the girl breaking “for a time”? |
You don’t speak for me. Southerners love drama they just make sure it’s approved by their masters. |
IDGAF about this narcissistic student and I’m a liberal. Follow the freaking dress code, go to graduation, and get the hell on OR don’t go to graduation and wear your dress at your own party. Jesus.
Women in Texas are being denied abortions until they’re septic. Minorities out there have real problems and face consequential discrimination. A solipsistic white male not being able to wear a dress isn’t news worthy and wasn’t worthy of the court’s time either. |
Where do you get any of this from? The photo I’ve seen of this person looks like a cross-dressing dude. |
I’d be more worried about who’s influencing my kid’s mental health to be so poor that wearing a pair of pants, which “she” wore all “her” life until two seconds ago, is such a big deal now. A sense of proportion is key to happiness. |
A white male wearing pants isn’t comparable to slavery, you arrogant, racist, trolling buffoon. |

Gendered outfits have existed throughout every culture and era in history. About 5 minutes ago, we decided gender was a feeling rather than a biological fact, and now we are going to pretend gender signifiers are creepy. OK. |
Gendered dress codes are creepy. |
They have been the norm since recorded history. And if this is your stance, it nullifies the trans girls entire argument. She would have no reason to prefer the male or female version of the uniform, rather, she should be arguing that no students should get to wear pants. She is making the opposite argument, that dresses are integral to her identity as a female. |
So what. You know what else has existed throughout every culture and era in history? Transgenderism. It's creepy to insist that girls wear white dresses. Really creepy. If I were on my period I'd say no way. Actually if I were this girl's classmate I would have worn a shirt dress with a tie and long sleeves as well as socks and sensible "boy" shoes and cut my hair short "like a boy" and absolutely no makeup. And then encouraged her to come to ceremony in full makeup, hair do, high heels, and sassy white shirt and pants. Freedom! |
Um, if you reject gendered dress codes that means you believe people should wear what they most feel comfortable and appropriate in, regardless of gender. Your argument makes no sense. Any of the girls should have been able to wear pants if they so chose. And any of the boys should be able to wear a dress or robes if they so choose. Lots of cultures where men where dresses. Even male priests wear dresses in church in our culture. Break out of your rigid thinking and support freedom. |
Um no, she’s arguing that all students should get to wear pants AND that all students should get to wear dresses. |
Irony alert, everyone is wearing gowns. |
