No one but golfers considers a golf course real green space. It's fenced off from the general public unless they pay, it's not particularly attractive, it does little to support wildlife or biodiversity and it requires an abundance of chemicals to be maintained.

Not to mention, will golf even be a major sport 130 years from now? COVID provided a brief boost, but pre-pandemic, there had been a steady decline for like two decades.

Just a reminder that the entire Tidal Basin is in desperate need of boring engineering repairs and any discussion of changing or fixing anything on Hains Point before that is done is a colossal waste of time and money.

It is very encouraging to see other people that are concerned with the Decay at Haines point and remember also it's great history. The National Park service appears not to be maintaining their own buildings in the area and they have obviously another Focus for their personnel and resources. I believe that the benches and trees and grounds could be given a yearly maintenance from a friends of the park group organization
