Restaurants you used to like but have gone downhill

Which location? Maybe they vary a lot.

We found both the quality and quantity has gone down a lot. My husband gets the salad and now it is barely any food. And he is not a big eater. They no longer let you order pico salsa with chips. Has that returned? If you ask for it on the tacos, you get a tiny, tiny bit of tomatoes. The chicken has gone down in quality. Maybe it has turned around recently.

Four Sisters. We used to eat there a lot when they were in Eden Center, but the food after they moved to Mosaic became a shadow of its former self.

I’ll also join the chorus on Uncle Julio’s. The food was so bad the last time we went, we will definitely not be returning.

Was their original location good? I went when they opened on 14th st and thought it was horrible. The only saving grace I could see was that it was a place you could bring screaming, wild toddlers and not get the side-eye, but the food was always trash.

Went there a few months ago and it was both expensive and terrible for food. Love the atmosphere and have been going there for many, many years, but will only do drinks from now on. Medium rare steak was cooked well and the 45 dollar seafood pasta was inedible. Butter/white wine sauce was like 15 limes squeezed into it like they changed course mid prep from making a ceviche and decided to add pasta. Blech.

Yeah. I'm not sure what it is about. The one near us is fine. Maybe the newer ones have issues......

The DT in Arlington (Langston) is fine. I've never had any issues.

Golden Corral has been slipping. Chocolate Waterfall has been discontinued and the fried shrimps aren’t as fresh as I remember.

This is sarcasm, right?

Their last day was this past Sunday.

I can't believe this chain is still in business. I had a $200 gift card to spend and still ended up paying $120 out of pocket for two people. Not worth the money at all. Yet it was packed.

The Melting Pot is another one that baffles me. I get that it's a novelty but the prices they charge for a bunch of cut up food scraps is nuts.

I wish that were the case-- we used to go 2x/month. But it's really gone downhill. They've changed their ingredients -- no more sliced peppers, now it's some diced mix. The potatoes in the breakfast tacos aren't nearly as good. The chicken isn't as good. I assume they've cut quality due to inflation/covid. But I'd rather pay more and have good food. The alternative is we don't go anymore. Please DT people-- read this and go back to the way it used to be!!

I was so shocked by this. Only ever knew it in Mosaic, and the crispy pork spring rolls were essential to my extended family’s existence. Seriously, we’d meet there for dinner and argue about whether everyone needed their own order.
Sad to see it go.
