+1 it's really large and unwieldy on my laptop computer view.

Adjust the zoom level of your browser.

Font is way too big. I'm on a desktop computer. 21" screen. 2-3 posts take up an entire screen height.

I don't mind the layout, but how about using the same font size as before? People didn't seem to have issues with that.

Here's an example. I load this thread in the legacy vs new design. The legacy and I can see 2.5 posts on the screen. In the new design I can see 1 post and 2 lines of the next post, so about 1.2 posts on a screen.

More than likely, your browser is zoomed in. The old font was quite small and I think most users with large screens zoomed it to about 120%. If you set your browser to "actual size" now, it should look fine. If that is still too big, just change the zoom to something lower.

Why do I not have to do this for any other website? If I go to my usual sites (Washington Post, Google, Gmail, Reddit), none of those require adjustment to view on the same screen and computer.

As I said, just change your browser's zoom level.

I just checked. On the old design, I had it to 110%. On the new site, I set it to 80% and that's about equivalent.

Bring back the old format. It's too busy with all the extra "stuff" ...I don't care about when the post was started or when Anonymous last responded to it but it's displayed in my sightline when scrolling through topics.

The font is too large too.

In my experience, browsers save the zoom level on a per site basis. If you adjust it for DCUM, it should not change for other sites and you won't have to change it again.

I thought my browser was zoomed in until I realized the site had actually changed.

The old design is still available at:

https://www.dcurbanmom.com/legacy/

The same "stuff" was on the old version. Even more, in fact.

On laptop, the new design is better in that it combines some of the columns (fewer columns)...
but, the old Topic/Subject line was appropriately long, compared to the timestamps.
Now the timestamps take too much room, that could be used for the subject line.

Make the Subject field wider, and the timestamps much smaller.
