It’s not a “violent fantasy” for a 12 year old. They heard about it somewhere, don’t really understand the violence, and repeat it trying to be tough.

It’s absolutely not OK and there should be consequences, but it’s certainly not the same as a NT adult saying it.

Fact is, the teacher was put on notice. Does a rape victim feel better if her racist was having a mental episode? Did she even make a written report? If someone in your neighborhood threatened to rape you, you get a protection order from the court.
