But the school ranking has something to do with faculties, doesn't it? |
No. I’m worried you’re not sure you can be proud of your son. You should be. Getting ANY professor position is exceptionally difficult and it’s a noble profession. |
Uh, it’s no 1 in the nation for aerospace engineering |
| My DS joined UVA last year for engineering despite getting into better ranked engineering schools. He absolutely has no regrets! Go where your kid sees himself and wants to go! College is an experience as much as it is an educational institution. Where does he see himself? |
+1 from another UVA engineering grad |
+2 |
But if you think there’s any chance the applicant might change majors, thought (as my DC, who, had a pick of GT aerospace engineering versus Purdue versus UVA, did) pick UVA. You do not want to be a Politics, philosophy & Law major st Georgia Tech! Fortunately, he picked UVA and all is well. |
Law major? Seriously? You don’t want to be a STEM major at UVA either. Trade offs. |
The kid is now doing grad work at Oxford. Obviously he did something right. Next stop is law school |
There is no such thing as a, “law major.” That was my point. |
