I had friend who married a Russian and they lived in Germany. They considered Katarina or Katrina (I forget which), Anna, and Eva and ended up picking Ava. Interestingly I have an Iris and I’ve had people from many countries (including Russia) tell me that it’s a name “from” their country. I don’t know if that is typical of names with Greek origin (ie for them to be common in many other countries).
