Nobody here cares about education and is just concerned with making school as miserable as is humanely possible. |
So, why did all 26 Principals want to keep them? Do you volunteer in the schools and check the bathrooms? |
If only there were things society could do besides punishing people and locking them up. |
those would be the social justice warriors who care more about certain group's feelings than actually closing the achievement gap and ensuring that kids are safe and learning in school. |
I agree with the latter part of your statement but not the former. Tolerating and turning a blind eye to substance abuse in school bathrooms is very, very dangerous to the person using and the second-hand effects, both medically and emotionally on other students, should not be swept under the rug because people don't want to make a decision. |
and how is that working for our society? Have you seen cities like Portland and SF with their "defund the police" strategy? I used to live in the Bay Area. SF was never that bad when I lived there 10 yrs ago. The defund the police strategy has really made SF go down hill fast. |
Probably the same reasons they had them at Parkland and Uvalde. They mistakenly believed they'd help when in fact they don't. |
I still live there and it's actually better now than 10 years ago. |
Fact: Crime was much much worse long before any idea to “defund police” or restorative justice. Your hyperbole is not helping anyone. |
Yes, it's better if you like the human waste and needles all over the place, oh, and the pimping and hooking. https://abc7news.com/san-francisco-sex-workers-prostitution-neighbors-speak-out-capp-street-sf/12764865/ |
really? Is crime better in MCPS? Is that why they had to send out that announcement about the bathroom security? Is MCPS announcement "hyperbole"? |
It is very pathetic that you keep mentioned incidences that did not occur in MoCo let alone MD. But in any case, why don't you volunteer in the HS and confront the drug dealers and users? |
Except that they didn't defund the police. |
THIS It sucks that they are punishing ALL our kids for the (bad) actions of just a few kids. I want the schools to get a handle on the drug use and everything else that goes on in the school bathrooms, but this ain’t the way to go about it. |
They should do a crackdown campaign and bust the kids vaping in the bathrooms. Give everyone a warning tomorrow in the announcements at school, send an email to parents, and let them all know the consequences (first offense x; second xy and much more substantial). Then do it. It won’t be persuasive for all students but it will be for some. This is ridiculous and impacting every single kid. |
