Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
Sure they are... |
Why are you contradicting my false narrative with facts!?! It's so annoying. |
So if a peer is bullying a student and 10 others don’t report what they saw, they should all be expelled? |
Yes! |
No but they should be required to participate in a restorative justice circle. |
That's not even analogous. This was a coaching decision. I don't think the kids had any say and likely had no idea what was allowable. The kid that participated was not some ringer and not expected to win. So, it wouldn't have been some "moral dilemma" for the kids. Their coach made a decision. |
and the kids sat back and did nothing which makes them complicit |
somehow PP is not getting that part. i just she just doesn't want to get it when her kid is one of them |
The kids were not in charge and are never privy to the private student records of other students. They don’t have the information or power in this matter. |
kids always know more than you think. haven't you learned that? |
I don’t know what I think about the punishment. But I don’t, for a minute, believe the kids didn’t know that the kids who were not qualified to wrestle did not go to Wheaton. |
| Just like it's not on people to report undocumented immigrants to the authorities, it's not on kids to report on non-mcps kids to the authorities. That call is up to the coach. |
It's not that people are saying that the kids are totally innocent. It's that the punishment is disproportionate to the offense |
| Instead of being upset about the consequence(s). Be upset that the coach cared so little about his team. |
