DC is in CMNS and invited to Honors College! In-state, 35 ACT, 4.0 UW GPA doing an IB Diploma program, working a part-time job with significant responsibility.

OP, that is super surprising. 3.7 unweighted? ACT score was high enough. Did he write a decent essay and answer the short answer questions on the common app? Bs in AP and honor courses should not have tanked his application.

Essay and short questions were honestly really good. I don't get it. DC is in at several other schools but wanted MD as a first choice. We're all slightly stunned.

My kid was a 3.7 UW, 4.3 weighted. I will not be stunned if he does not get in. In fact, I will be surprised if he does. It’s gotten really hard to get into College Park. Hugs to your kid - it will all work out!

Moco DD, 3.86 unweighted, 4.45 weighted, did not submit scores, lots of ECs, awesome essay. Accepted and thrilled.

My DC has similar stats, got in, but DC is away and just said "got in". No communication after that.

My son ever got an email which was sickening but decision was in the portal

DC got in, too. But, I was still anxious.
