Emily in Paris - season 3

Gabriel is not cute anymore

Season is the most boring one so far. Yawn

Alfie is acting like a baby and is sulking all the time. Don’t buy this. I can’t imagine Emily really wanting him.

Emily’s boss’ baby story line is dumb.

The skinny French guy telling her boss where they will going to dinner is unrealistic.

Hope the season gets better!

I thought Alfie was behaving fine - but it seemed really unfair for Emily to harangue him into taking her back after the way she kept blowing him off. I was surprised he gave in!

I read an article about the actress that plays Mindy and how she didn't really like the shift to music in her storyline. I guess she was already known for singing before the show and wanted to try something without singing.

She's also on the (way underappreciated) show Girls 5Eva - on Peacock. About a girl band that reunites in their late 30s/early 40s. Love it. She plays a member of the band who died but comes back sometimes in backstory scenes and in the present as a hologram.

Yes she really needs some support. I loved her style in the first 2 seasons. This season most of her clothes are misses and too try hard.

I feel this way about Emily. Her outfits have always been a "lot" but this season they are just ugly, unflattering, and silly. And she can barely walk in the super high heels.

And why, why is she wearing high heeled knee high boots during the summer when it's 40 bazillion degrees out?

I really do wish her fashion were more... not realistic, exactly. But seemed more appropriate for the occasion and the season. Let her wear bonkers clothes, but not run around an amusement park in the summer wearing some weird blazer and boots. That just makes no sense.

I love some of the other characters. But Emiliy, nope, sorry. She looks like a small child playing dress up with her mom's clothes. Plus there is zero chemistry between her and any of her boyfriends. It's jut not believable that she would charm everyone around her with her "wit"... And after all this time in Paris she still can't pronounce "Bonjour". I guess I just love to hate her.

I've hated her a lot more in previous seasons. This season I started liking her. You know what's funny? In real life she's fluent in French so her poor language skills on the show is a choice for the character!

Re: the clothes - I would love at some point to show her actually shopping. It's one of the things I liked about SATC - they didn't just have the characters wearing crazy clothes. They showed them shopping for them. The expense of those shoes became a plot point. I wish they would do that more here, too. Is she learning about French fashion? Shopping the flea markets? Does she sell her clothes on Instagram - is that why she can have this large wardrobe in a tiny apartment with no storage space?

Also how much do you think she earns for her job? And who is paying for the apartment now that she's no longer working for the original firm?

Honestly, I tore through this season with nary a snarky comment and I am looking forward to season 4. This show won me over, dagnabit.

***SPOILERS BELOW***

With the end of season cliffhanger, I don't see how Emily and Gabriel can ever really be together now. Unless Camille and [someone else] get married or get into a serious relationship and Gabriel helps co-parent the kid.

Maybe she subscribes to rent the runway?

I would appreciate a line telling us that, then - or even showing her looking for clothes online or wherever. The clothes are a big part of the show and I would just appreciate incorporating the acquiring of those clothes into the show, too.

Wasnt rent the runway what Emily suggested when Madeline needed to go to the Pierre Cadeau party and needed an outfit at the last minute? She said something like "I know just the place." Add then Madeline and Sylvie ended up wearing that same black dress.

Mindy lost weight in season 3, whyyyy! She was lovely in season 1 and 2.

Ally mcbeal effect

The character is probably meant to be early 40s. Yes her study line is very weird and what’s with the giant pink water bottle?

Gabrielle is still dreamy and l like Mindy.

I think it's supposed to be how Americans are obsessed with water and hydrating. I thought the water bottle was funny.

I wish they'd put her in clothes that fit, though. She's a beautiful woman who deserved better than to be squeezed into a too-small dress.

I assumed the water and nutty behavior by Madeline were because she had a baby like three weeks earlier.

I am not into the whole plus size model at all. But going Ally McBeal is crazy too!
Can't we just have normal, healthy, attractive bodies?

I totally want to see that but can't justify another streaming service.

NP. I was going to skip it but was curious about Gabriel. He had been glowing and buff. I was particularly curious about the "bottom-heavy" comment.

You know, I don't think that is it. I think his face looks more gaunt, not quite as healthy, and he has lost muscle mass in his upper body. Prior to this season, I recall him in short sleeves more, or chef's whites with sleeves rolled up and guns on display. This season, it seemed to be long sleeves all the way.

I wonder if his health took a hit during the pandemic. I wish the actor well, and I still think he is quite charming.

They can pull a Virgin River since Camille was very lonely and maybe her baby belongs to another guy, or maybe she was lying since she was very desperate to keep Gabriel.

Peacock lets you subscribe to watch one show, then unsubscribe right away. And there's only two short seasons of Girls 5Eva - so you can def get through it in less than a month. You might even have time to watch the also way underappreciated, now cancelled, Rutherford Falls. Two seasons of that, too.

+1 It used to be my folding-laundry watch, but it's too boring even for that.
