What percent of people do you know who weren't earning at least 75k a year by the time they were 30?

My daughter is 23 and a CPA. Her salary is $72k this year.

DCPS teachers make a lot. There were gym teachers making well over $100,000.

Gym teachers lots of places make over 100k. If you’ve been at it for some years you can probably make close to 150k in Montgomery Co.

insane

You have to do it for like 25 years first though

No teacher in MoCo is making close to $150k. At step 25 they max at $118k with a doctorate degree.

lol, everyone. I'm a teacher. After 12 years I just cracked that, even with a masters.

I remember when DCPS raised their pay up so high, it was the only way they could get anybody to work there.

My daughter is early 40s, she just hit around 80K, she's a bartender.

I don’t know what my friends make. I worked for the feds from 25-35 years old. At 30 I was making about $90K. My husband was making about $250K.

Well then you must be kind of slow because there is plenty of evidence of that.

I won't be in my 70s for a few more years though. Why does it matter?

I find it difficult to believe that someone old enough to have a child over 40 would be sane enough to contribute this well to a conversation. Well, life is full of surprises, so this may not be a troll.

I'm confused. You think that someone who's somewhere between their early 60's and late 70's would be unable to contribute to a conversation. The only person displaying cognitive issues is you.

Approximately 46.73%.

I agree the OP is grossly out of touch or a troll, but $66K seems pretty darn low for a mid-career lawyer. Not a lawyer so I’m curious: is this common?

Yes, very common for lawyers to make this is nonprofit work. The average attorney salary is $129,000. People think lawyers are loaded. Most are not. https://www.bls.gov/ooh/legal/lawyers.htm

Many of my doctor friends who were still in residency or fellowship.

I feel badly that your experience with people in that age range is apparently limited to those who are not sane. I have many friends over 60 and none of them are not sane and most of them are not as narrow minded as you appear to be. You also might want to look up the definition of troll.

I don't know anyone personally. I'm sure there are some people who work part time, etc but most of my circle works in professional roles in major cities. No way they are earning less than 75k
