Agree or Disagree?: Inflatable yard Christmas decor is tacky

I think the inflatables are ugly and cartoony and my kid likes regular light displays, too, so it seems like the obvious choice is to do the thing that's more broadly appealing. Plus there are lots of tacky, kid-centric holiday activities and displays in commercial places. You don't have to turn your house into one.

Personally, I like beauty around the holidays. It's so dark out and the weather is cold and dreary, and seeing a really beautifully decorated home warms my soul. The giant inflatables just don't do anything for me and sometimes they are weird or disturbing looking.

*yawn*

lol but, yeah, I agree

A few years ago, my dog suddenly stopped wanting to go for walks. Or, he’d start the walk, but when we got to a certain place around the block, he would sit down and refuse to go any further.

We figured out it was a neighbor’s inflatables that were freaking him out and he didn’t want to walk past them.

I don’t like them. I much prefer lights.

I think they are tacky but mostly fun. But I won’t get them because I’m worried about the environmental impact of all that plastic plus the electricity to keep them inflated.

They are 100% tacky, but presumably people don’t decorate their homes for my enjoyment or approval.

They may be tacky, but they bring my kids and the neighbors kids joy, so we have a display of them in our yard.

Don't we have other ways to entertain kids? It is unclear to me why we have to every aspect of a holiday about kids. What about lonely older people without kids -- does no one care about making them happy at the holidays?

The lonely, older people compliment my inflatable holiday decor too.. so there’s that. Joy for all!

Tacky but it doesn't matter what I think. It's Christmas so everyone should feel free to be tacky, if they want.

No, I don’t see anything tacky about them.

But then again - I like the look of decorative pink plastic flamingos 🦩!

I find inflatable Christmas decor very colorful and think if you have children > it is a MUSThave!

I tend to agree, though in fairness I'm pretty traditional when it comes to Christmas in general.
