Only thing I didn't think through is transporting it and keeping it hot, since we are going as guests. Hopefully it's just at good at more of a room temp.

Yum.

We have two non meat-eaters — who loved the crab imperial (which we don’t count as meat — maybe you do). Delish.

Please tell us more about this vegetarian crab.

+1. It's like my MIL has entered the conversation.

Two people have already talked about vegetarian crab. Go ahead and read up.

And the Wellington is a success! Good flavor. I would up the onions a bit. And making the filling ahead did help the flavor. It really was impressive looking! Would have been good with regular gravy.

Agree on the onions - they are so good! Glad you enjoyed.

Why do people feel so smug in minimizing vegetarian diets, when hopefully they would have the grace to accommodate Muslim/Halal guests, or Jewish/kosher guests?

It seems like one or two people on all the threads about vegetarians. They seem unstable so probably safe to ignore.
