Are you voting yes or no on the APS school bond?

I found the two viewpoints on the bond in the APE election newsletter helpful: https://mailchi.mp/0771065cd1da/arlingtonparentsforeducation-14362078?e=f85c0f2a61

I’m voting yes

On AEM, John Vihstadt endorsed the school bond. ‘Nuff said.

No. APS has no idea what they are doing with this site or Arlington tech. First time I’ve ever voted against a school bond. We’ll regret it shortly after the ribbon cutting.

Make the developers pushing Missing Middle pay for it.

I thought it was really odd that there are no names attached to either of the viewpoints in the APE newsletter. Then I realized that APE just lifted both of them from the CivFed newsletter without attribution to either author. Lol at APE's claim that it "sought out two viewpoints regarding the APS bond referendum and has offered equivalent space for each perspective." Ok.....

See for yourself, here's the CivFed newsletter -

77% of voters approved this bond. I know some critics here will call them sheep, but those are your neighbors/pickleball league/PTA cohorts, etc. it's also clear by some comments that the critics made up their minds a few years ago, and not based on latest yes-it's-an-actual plan. Anyone reading this in future: just know that Arlington now has a genuine curmudgeon vote. Their loud, out of touch, and don't want to support the future like what was done for them. Fortunately they're also a fractional minority, so keep them in context.

You are unhinged. APS needs to address real need and stop kicking the hoping it will get sucky enough for those with means to move or go private.

I’ve been opposing career center expansion for a decade because it cannibalizes money from 4th high school. This is just a continuation of that effort not some protest vote because I’m bored.

Out of touch because I’ve been involved in this issue for longer than you have had kids?

the expansion of the CC *is* the only 4th HS you're going to get.

A decade? That would mean you've been opposing the CC expansion for longer than anyone was even discussing expanding the CC.

The “issue” is the need for a 4th high school. Are you willfully ignorant?

I think willful ignorance is someone who thinks APS is going to build a 4th high school at this point. When? Where?
