Are you voting yes or no on the APS school bond?

Apparently there is drama on AEM about it. I missed a lot of the posts that were apparently deleted. Thoughts?

Voting no. We don’t need career center expansion we need 4th high school.
Anonymous
Yes, as 75% of voters do every year.

Doesn’t really matter what you vote, all bonds are going to pass and all candidates on the D sample ballot are going to win.
Anonymous
I wonder if a substantial number of people vote no, if the SB will rethink how they are planning on spending the Monday even if the bond passes.

Probably cause AEM has become a cult of the six same people ganging up on everyone that disagrees with them. I’m torn. I wanted a fourth high school, but if I vote no, we get nothing?

This is not accepting the good while wanting the perfect.

This is the barely adequate and eliminates the bare minimum.

We need a 4th high school. When MM passes, it will mark an inflection point in the school population to astronomical levels.

If they don’t build a fourth high school, we will be going private.

Plan on going private, then. Mine will be out of HS before the 4th would ever come online, but I've seen enough in 11 years to know it won't happen. Kick the can is the favorite game.

As for the AEM drama, I don't even post anymore b/c it is the same people over and over (yes, I realize the irony). There was also an anonymous page that started posting w/o ever saying who were member in the "we". It was shady and I'm surprised the moderator let in an anonymous group. It felt like a rebranded APE trying to make a point w/o the baggage that comes along with the APE name.

As for how you vote, it really won't matter. The Dem sample ballot always wins. Always. Even when their is a good independent candidate who actually made Arlington better, the "here, we did the thinking for you" ballot always wins.

If they don’t build a fourth high school, we will be going private.

+1 Bingo!
I'm voting no; but it's easy to vote no when it's a sure thing it will pass.

I fully support a 4th high school. However, the Career Center and Arlington Tech need a larger and upgraded facility just as badly as Arlington needs a 4th comprehensive high school. We need BOTH.
That said, I am voting "no" on principle because I disagree with the proposed plan for the Career Center site - or, more accurately, the lack of plan for that site. They have screwed it up so badly and caused such delay in getting those kids what they deserve as a result. It's shameful.

If the bond being voted down actually made BOTH the SB and CB wake up and really consider what we want and need as a real solution to our problems and actually get down to serious business to get it done, I would be flabbergasted but dancing in the street with joy.
