| Not a great episode this week, I spent the whole time wishing it would be over. |
|
I thought episode 2 was such a fun tone shift to gothic. Kinda cheesy and full of tropes and forgone conclusions, but well done.
Also, I despised Max Minghella in The Handmaid’s Tale, but really like him in this. |
Agree with all. Surprised at how much I'm enjoying MM. Also who knew Kit Harington can really act? |
|
During ep 2 I was thinking whoa this is a lot, but at the end I thought it was an amazing character study of little rich boy Henry Muck and his inherited trauma.
It took me a sec to catch onto his “friend” who took him out to the bar. Also the final moments in the convertible ride through the countryside- Yasmin’s expression was perfect. I appreciate the deep character dive after watching a bunch of mid series like All Her Fault, Beast in Me and His & Hers. |
I think KH will get nominated for an Emmy for this episode. He was excellent. |
| Thought on last night's episode? |
| The actress playing Sweet Pea KILLED it in this episode. Just amazing. |
|
Showing my age here, but I had no idea coke is still such a thing. To me it’s a drug of the 70’s and 80’s. In Industry they treat it likes it’s pot. The sex: meh. It’s not even particularly hot. It’s performative. I hear this show compared to Succession, it’s nowhere in that league. I haven’t started season 4.
If anything, I’d say this show is depressing. These characters are all so broken and no hope for redemption. |
Well you've described exactly what the show is about. Broken people living high-stakes work to fill the big black holes in their souls. |
It goes downhill in season 4, I'm still watching but it barely holds my attention. |
It was better when set at Pierpoint. |
| I think this show suffers by focusing on Yasmin at the expense of Harper. One season of it is okay, like last season, but not two. There is no "journey" there like there was with Harper in the first couple of seasons. |
Yasmin is in roughly every other episode, which I think is fine. Harper is in the others, and had more focus this week, if not as much as Yasmin (or Sweet Pea, in the most recent ep). Marisa Abela has been the breakout star of the series, so maybe not all that surprising. Does anyone find Harper's character all that interesting? |
More than Yasmin, yes. |
| I feel like the actress playing Harper delivers all her lines the same way. It’s boring and her weird toxic relationship with her former boss is played out. |
