Industry on HBO

The music and the dialogue and the murmuring in the background of the workplace seems so formulaic and tired at this point. how many emergency financial situations can they save before it becomes repetitive?

+1
I have to keep the subtitles on so I can follow the conversations in the background. The most vile character is Eric, Harper's direct boss. After him would be Yasmin's boss, Conor (the guy with raging short man syndrome). This show makes me feel anxious, stressed, and upset - and still I watch it! Not a good feeling.

The major focus on sex is so unrealistic. Glad to hear it gets better in seasons 2 and 3, because I'm starting to just fast forward all of those scenes. It's just way, way too much.

Forgetting all the sex and drugs, the work stress doesn’t make this fun to watch for me. It’s different than, say, Succession, where I just don’t relate to the work stresses the characters have.

Seriously, this is one of the best shows on TV. Last night's episode was just so poignant and touched on lots of universal themes.

That was years ago when it came out. Who cares some weirdo wrote an Ari tale about season three in the NYTimes recently.
It’s a bunch of cliches, drugs, s3x, sellside trading floor. Most people stopped midway through season one.
It got worse and worse, nuttier and nuttier the following seasons, per the recent article.

Yeah all 200 analysts at every bank are doing that. Yeah.

Be sure to get some tats on your boobs too. Nothing screams 35 yo, I mean 22 yo, scholarship kid from America like that.

No one cares.
Who’s funding this loss maker?

Like what? S3x and A-holes?

Provide some examples of why it was poignant and what universal themes?

Yes, love this season. Kit Harrington is fantastic. So different than Jon Snow. Hope he gets an Emmy for this season.

You know you might be a prude if you can't bring yourself to spell out "sex ."

I’m a 53f and am half way through season 1 and I’m into it! I too am wondering how I missed this show when it first came out.
I def need the subtitles.
I love watching Eric and Yasmin.
Check out a clip of the actress who plays Harper do an interview with Seth Myers (I think that was the late night host). She was super high energy and such a different vibe than Harper. She literally runs onto the stage when introduced.

I'm a 56f and just finished season 1! I love it too, but the sex scenes are WAY too much for me. Yasmin is absolutely gorgeous, and I love her acting. I also watched the Seth Meyers interview with Myha'la (Harper). She was adorable and so fun - I have to say, not a fan of Harper's aloof and humorless character! She also played another role I didn't like in "Leave the World Behind." Glad to see she's much different IRL. Just wish she'd wear some nipple covers!!

PP, I don’t know if it’s my age but yeah her nipples in that outfit.

You will come to like Eric and Conor more as the show goes on. I can't believe I'm saying that.

They are definitely based on real management. Especially Eric giving up his life for the job and hilariously keeping a straight face telling Yasmin she broke ethics rules while he's 100% into following ethics rules.
