I liked it |

You all have me convinced to keep going. I watched episode 1 last night. I am not a great tv fan and always multitask so this was a tough watch from that perspective.
But I was so sucked in when Woo saw the problem with the easy and enticing plea where none of the other lawyers even recognized the larger implications. It made her such an impressive advocate. As a trial lawyer I see this a fair amount - not looking past the immediate problem to how the potential outcomes affect the future for the client. But I was skeptical about her ability to handle the courtroom. I appreciated the portrayal of her challenges and, for me, I could see that despite her significant challenges she was truly able to be an effective advocate. And she was credible - it didn’t feel like a stretch or a fantasy. Still it’s hard for me not to multitask when the tv is on. But I am inspired and will watch episode 2 during my mini me time vacation tonight. Thanks. |
Let us know what you think about Episode 2. I think that one is about a wedding dress. |

NP here.
A friend had recommended this series and finally managed to watch the first two episodes last weekend. The first episode was amazing on several levels. The second (yes, PP, about a wedding dress) seemed like an odd legal action, plus o I never saw that end coming. But the lead actress is so talented and the storylines are interesting. I am looking forward to more. How many episodes total in the season? This is my first "kdrama" as others have called it. |
Sixteen I think. This is my second Kdrama so I'm not the expert. But I think they are typically 16 episodes. And only one season. I know they announced a second season of Attorney Woo, but the actress is reluctant. She said it was a difficult role and wasn't sure she could do another season. Anyhow, glad you're enjoying EAW. It's an awesome series. |
| We finished it! Relief. Love it! |
| Best k drama of the season on Netflix is alchemy of souls. Twenty five twenty one is also great. Viki is a great app for k dramas. I have a year subscription but you can watch for free with commercials. One of the best k dramas of all times is Goblin in Korean and guardian: the lonely and great god in English. It won drama of the year in 2016. Soundtrack is also one of the best. Another great k drama is true beauty which is on Viki as well. And I assume a lot of you have seen I tae won class on Netflix. All of these be prepared to cry. The reply series on Netflix are good. Reply 1988 is very nostalgic for a lot of Koreans. |

DH and I finished last night. Per usual, his eyes were wet. He then said, "This is better than Rings of Power" which--okay, is not saying much bc that show has a lot of criticism from LOR fans, however....for DH to like a romantic K drama more than anything LOR is saying a lot!
Also we're both lawyers and historically avoid lawyer shows like the plague. So that's also saying something! Something interesting about this show--if you were to ask me who my favorite character was...I can't tell you; they are all so appealing in their own ways! I googled and looks like there is to be a season 2 in 2024 and maybe an American version. |
| Is anyone else in the middle of watching the show? I finished episode 8 a few days ago and just started episode 9. Really annoyed that Netflix just switched from subtitles to dubbing. It’s really distracting that they switched. The voice actors are clearly inferior. |
I’m sorry, that’s terrible. I’m so glad I finished it a couple weeks ago. Now I won’t recommend it to other people because I agree that watching with dubbed voices is annoying. They should at least give you a choice to watch the original. |
I just looked on Netflix and English subtitles are still available on each episode. |
Yes, I’m the PP. I just checked and you have to select the language and subtitles. |
You dumb or no? |

I'm so glad I found this thread! I just started watching and as the mother of an autistic child, this gives me great hope. And sometimes that's all we need to get through the day!
