Uh this is not something new at all.
It has happened in the past repeatedly.
Some got lucky and not caught yet.

Funny that these elite schools cheat, but people always pick on schools like Tulane Northeastern for 'gaming' LOL

People who allegedly don’t care about the ranking system are awfully concerned about who’s gaming the rankings
(BYU is ranked as a T80 national university by the way)

Wow! Columbia really did cheat!

“The magazine said it took the action after Columbia “failed to respond to multiple U.S. News requests that the university substantiate certain data it previously submitted to U.S. News.”

What a farce USNews is. Allowing Columbia to “play” their system for years without doing much in checking for accuracy.

While Columbia reviewing their data, should we also review other colleges' data?

When most of the elite colleges say they are need-blind, should be review what they say how they achieve constant quota on race, locality, income level through need-blind. They must have special power to see through the applications.

USNWR want to be the authority on rankings. It’s up to them to make sure reported data is somewhat accurate.
