DP. LOL The Sopranos was a huge hit among millennials during the COVID lockdown, it was an actual phenomenon. Get with the times, Granny. And play with your damn cat instead of letting it poop all over the neighborhood. People like you shouldn’t be allowed to own pets. |
+1. And take down that picture of Fluffy on your desk if you ever want a promotion—the boss thinks you’re nuts, too. |
| If you can’t handle cats, dogs, mice, snakes, rabbits, raccoons, foxes, squirrels and birds in your yard then you’re not ready for the ‘burbs. Just move downtown where the wanderers are rats and humans. |
Some of these things are not like the others. Cats and dogs are not native to North America. Your free-ranging cat is an ecological disaster. And are you seriously arguing that dogs should be allowed to roam free through our neighborhoods? You’ve lost it, cat lady. And cat poop can carry toxoplasma. Toxoplasma gondii makes humans take more risks and leads to rage issues. https://www.livescience.com/can-cat-parasites-control-human-brains.html T. gondii also increases the risk of schizophrenia in humans. https://www.livescience.com/56529-strange-facts-ab...is-alters-the-brain/a-46222116 |
Ya know, repeatedly insulting people with bad science and equally bad logic just isn’t working out for you. |

1. Outdoor cats are an ecological blight and also annoying to neighbors.
2. I think OP has a fox problem not a cat problem. They should get motion activated sprinklers/lights/cameras, regardless. |
|
It is not illegal to trap and take cats to the shelter if they’re on your property. I’ve done it in Fairfax. I have dogs and a neighbor’s cat was constantly in my yard, pooping on the deck and digging in my planter boxes. My dogs chased the cat several times, I asked the owner to please keep it out of my yard (I.e. in her house) but she said she couldn’t. I didn’t want to be responsible for dead kitty, so I trapped it and took it to the shelter.
It is not my job to be responsible for your pets. |
I say go for it, OP. |
| The motion activated sprinklers would be a good idea for sure |
And give your neighbor the bill. |
Ha ha. You can always count on someone to post a link on why cats should be kept indoors. |
Ha ha. You can always count on someone to resent that science is being brought into the conversation. Ha ha not funny. Do you deny climate change too? |
I always think to myself "Wait for it, some eco warrior has a link that they're going to post". I'm fairly sure that with a bit of research, I too could find links from someone on the internet saying that it's OK to let cats outside, but I have better things to do. Besides, I moved to Nevada a few years ago where there are hardly any cats but yet I don't see birds all over the place. So your links don't mean that much to me. |
And yet you probably use Febreeze, which is just as disgusting as cat pee. Might as well have a loving pet for all the stink. |
That's just stupid. I've had this argument with an ornithologist, too. The craziest thing is completely ignoring that we have systematically killed their food supply and their habitat, and at the same time made laws making outdoor cats illegal. And yet cats are to blame based on "scientific studies" of the outdoors. So, so absurd. When I was a kid there was a plethora of insects and also hundreds upon hundred of birds in the skies every fall up and down Rockville Pike, gathering to migrate. Now there are zero insects, no trees on the pike, a dozen or so birds gathering in the fall, and most cats are indoor cats. Cats are NOT to blame for this. That's just common sense. You can't study the entire outdoors. So stupid. |
